Xiaogan No.1 Middle School is the first batch of key high schools and demonstration middle schools in Hubei Province. The school was founded in 1900, which was established on the basis of the imperial examination shed. It was renamed Xiaogan County Senior High School, County Junior High School and County No.1 Junior High School successively, 1958 was renamed Xiaogan County No.2 Middle School, and 1984 was upgraded to Xiaogan No.1 Senior High School.
