Words describing images in poetry
Poetry is a highly personalized and original language art. For thousands of years, the development of artistic expression symbols in poetry has generally followed the road from expressing one's mind directly to expressing images, no matter what one's poetic concept is. Since 1930s, image has been generally accepted as a basic aesthetic unit or poetic expression unit. The extensive use of images is actually the chief culprit of externalization and depersonalization of poetry art. By externalization and depersonalization, I mean externalization or objectification, that is, the visualization of the world. Open and free life experience is the experience of poetry, and resorting to language is poetry. The widespread use of images is obviously a process of covering life, not a process of uncovering life. Chinese Image, or its corresponding English word "image", contains an image plus a meaning, or "content". This meaning is the product of historical and cultural accumulation. For example, the word "sunset" not only conveys the sunset to readers, but also has other meaning due to different situations, such as a decline, a calm, a sadness, or a tragic feeling. These feelings, which the author wants to express, are not necessarily what the reader wants to express, and always exist in this word; Another example is "wine". In addition to the liquid containing ethanol we drink in our stomachs, it also implies a mellow, warm, or an escape in a certain situation. This implication in images is not only the product of historical accumulation, but also the product of social culture to a great extent, and social culture, especially modern social culture, is the direct reason for covering up people's real existence. Therefore, when the poet's poems experience various images, the poetic period is unexpectedly obscured and covered with a layer of unreal meaning. And this kind of meaning, because it is the accumulation of social culture, has a kind of meaning that is free from the poet's poetic experience, but enjoyed by the society, and the meaning enjoyed by this society is often transformed into an illusory and obscured meaning. This feature of images makes modern poetry lose its uniqueness (please note that uniqueness is not the same as subjectivity, and a poem with extreme subjective characteristics does not necessarily have any uniqueness): in popular language, the widespread use of images makes a modern poem read almost like another modern poem, if the two poems express the same theme (such as love). The following are three poems that I entered keywords from the Internet. As an example, I deliberately hid the author's name and title. The first poem was many years ago.

The car is at the foot of the mountain.

Pass by a small village

Light is like a big bird.

Flapping their soft wings

The edge of light

Three young girls suddenly flashed out.

Simple and simple

Fall into extreme chaos

Arm in arm with each other

Side by side

It's raining lightly.

They seem to be singing.

The lights moved quickly.

The bamboo forest behind them

And dark houses.

I don't know what this scene means.

It's often like a movie.

Reproduce in my mind

Spring of the second song in 2004

A rain

Inclined to float by the window

odds and ends

line

Your story with me. Oh, rainy night again.

Distant thoughts

calmly

recently

Slip to the third song, every day

Feathers cut into white by missing

Fly like dandelion seeds

I stand on the Yuan Ye in spring.

Recall the past

Your phone

Like a wind chime on a window.

There's no trace backstage. In the mid-1980s, there was a popular song called Station. The lyrics are as follows: I remember it was summer, windy and rainy. Maybe it was an accident, too We met at the station, facing two trains, met in a hurry and went our separate ways? 0? 4? 0? In the first poem, the poet is driving through a village. Three simple country girls appeared in front of the headlights. They flapped their wings like birds. The poet vaguely remembers three girls singing and it was raining lightly? 0? 4? 0? In this poem, the image of "bird" has the meaning of coming from far away. Because it is a foreign car, the three girls are in a panic, and they have to reconcile the "simplicity" of the girls; Car lights are like "soft wings" as an image, because wings are car lights, which have a transparent and pure meaning, like angel wings, but also to reconcile the simplicity of rural girls; Furthermore, the image of "gentle wings" is gentle and can arouse a sudden idea. This sudden idea may come from a poet or a girl-a country girl who is getting married. She has an inexplicable expectation for the distance, and this expectation should also match the girl's panic: a shy panic, a girl's singing-a country girl meets a distant poet, falls in love at first sight, and is ashamed to leave the headlights, girls. The image of rain, whose meaning contains constant emotional sadness, keeps appearing in my mind. Compared with The Station, two people from East and West (cities) meet in a hurry in two cars parked at the same time at a station, and their hearts are moved, and their love begins, so they separate from the car in the rain and go their separate ways, feeling that it keeps raining. In 2004, I met a rural girl in 1985, and met a man and a woman on the bus. I felt that there should be a great difference, but after the image expression, I felt that there was little difference. Under the expression of the image, the original clear/emotional mood has become a replica of a popular song twenty years ago. The second poem also uses the image of rain to express the poet's memories of his feelings with a woman. It dived silently into the water like rain. This poem is inseparable from the background (memory) of the station, but the story of men and women is a little longer, with some ups and downs. The third poem quoted in this passage is about days being cut into "white feathers" by thoughts. The image of "white feather" has the purity of an angel and has no smell of fireworks. Missing is like the image of "dandelion seed" and "dandelion seed", which means that it floats with the wind, falls with the wind and takes root and never dies. "Yuan Ye" contains endless missing. My thoughts are like dandelion seeds, falling in the spring breeze and taking root. The call of "you" in the poem is like the "Campbell flower" on the window-"Campbell flower" contains purity, beauty and transience, which makes people think that this call has disappeared and will never appear again. The whole poem, expressed by images, is also about how pure and beautiful his feelings with that woman are and how endless his thoughts for that woman are. 0? 4? 0? Although this third poem uses different images from the first and second poems to express its thoughts, it finally gives readers the same feeling as the first two pop songs with backgrounds. Highly original and true poetic experience, through the image expression of three poets, lost originality, so it was covered and became the background of culture-often mass culture. I believe that the previous examples firmly show that images cover the real poetic experience. Although the uniqueness of poetry is related to the poet's talent, the pre-existing meaning of images undoubtedly increases the difficulty of expressing the authenticity of poetry. Therefore, image is not the expression symbol of "appropriateness" and "freedom" in the art of poetry, because the expression symbol of appropriateness and freedom must directly present the poet's true and open poetic experience. In order to find suitable and free symbols of poetry expression, I propose that language integration is the basic symbol of poetry expression. This kind of language symbol does not contain pre-existing and external meanings, so it can be appropriate for real poetic experience.
