Documents required to apply for an Australian tourist visa for those under 18 years old
Have children under 18 years of age provided documents proving the relationship between parents and children:
1. Birth certificate with the names of both parents;
2. Copy of parents’ marriage certificate (if applicable).
3. Proof of school attendance (if applicable)
If one of the child’s parents or legal guardians, or neither of them is accompanying the child, the following is required:
1. Copies of ID cards of all non-accompanying parents;
2. Written signed authorization from all non-accompanying parents, with the following note:

4. Approximate travel dates and days
5. Agree on single or multiple entries
6. Contact information of the non-accompanying parent
If a child is cared for by someone other than parents, legal guardians or relatives while in Australia, a statement of support signed by the person responsible for taking care of the child is required. See: Form 1257 - Statement of Sponsorship
If there are issues involving child custody, the visa office may require further supplementary information during the review process.
