Tianyige Library is the oldest existing private library in my country and one of the three earliest existing private libraries in the world. It was built in the 40th to 45th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty ( AD 1561-1566), it was originally the library of Fan Qin, the right minister of the Ministry of War of the Ming Dynasty. In 1982, it was announced as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council. There are nearly 300,000 volumes of various ancient books in the collection, including 80,000 volumes of rare rare books, especially the local chronicles and imperial examination records of the Ming Dynasty. In recent years, our museum has developed rapidly, and has successively added the Chinese Local Chronicles Collection Hall, the Yintai Official Residence Museum, and the Mahjong Origin Exhibition Hall.
The Chinese Local Chronicles Collection Museum collects more than 6,730 volumes of contemporary local chronicles at all levels across the country, accounting for more than 80% of the total. The Yintai Museum showcases the home art and architectural art of officials and officials in the Qing Dynasty, and won the 2000 "Best Creative Award for the Top Ten National Museum Exhibitions". The Mahjong Origin Exhibition Hall displays the origin of Mahjong and its historical origins in Ningbo in a three-dimensional space. The Qin Family Ancestral Hall, built in the 1920s, has impressed tourists with its unique ancestral hall culture and exquisite folk craftsmanship. It has been included in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Tianyige Museum holds various calligraphy and painting exhibitions all year round, and has made remarkable achievements in the construction of spiritual civilization. The Picture of Horses Riding in Xishan
It is a masterpiece created by the late folk artist Hu Shancheng. Eight horses are flying by the stream, kicking their hooves, swaying their tails and turning their heads, playing and neighing. The shape and posture are lifelike. The shape of the painting looks out of proportion at first glance, but it actually makes full use of traditional Chinese painting techniques to highlight the key points of the painting.
Dongming Thatched Cottage
It was Fan Qin’s library before Tianyi Pavilion was built. Fan Qin (1506-1585), whose courtesy name was Yao Qin and whose name was Dongming, named his study room "Dongming Thatched Cottage", also known as "Yiwu Cottage". The current Dongming Thatched Cottage was rebuilt in 1980.
Fan's former residence
It was originally the east hall of Fan's house, and later became the residence of Fan's descendants. It is located outside the Tianyige Library surrounded by high walls. The living area and the book collection area are separated from each other. This is Fan Qin's careful arrangement to protect the book collection. The current building was rebuilt in the 9th year of Daoguang's reign in the Qing Dynasty.
Sima Di
This is Fan Qin's residence, with an elegant environment, located deep in the Moon Lake, shaded by trees, and spacious. In 1996, the Sima Di gate and side rooms were restored.
Baoshu Tower
Tianyi Pavilion, also known as Baoshu Tower, was built between the 40th and 45th years of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1561-1566). It was the headquarters of the Ministry of War of the Ming Dynasty. The library of Fan Qin, the Right Minister, is the earliest existing private library in my country.
Fan Qin built the library based on the theory that "heaven creates water" and used water to control fire. There is one large room upstairs and six rooms downstairs, which are named Tianyi Pavilion. A pond is dug in front of the pavilion to store water to prevent fire.
In the fourth year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1665), Fan Qin's great-grandson Fan Guangwen built a garden in front of the pavilion. The overall shape of the garden is "Fu, Lu, Longevity", and scenic spots such as nine lions and one elephant are piled up with rocks. The scenery is beautiful, the style is elegant, and it has the unique characteristics of Jiangnan courtyard garden.
Fan Qin originally collected more than 70,000 volumes, and now there are more than 17,000 volumes. Most of them are Ming Dynasty engravings and banknotes, many of which are unique in the country, especially the Ming Dynasty local chronicles and imperial examination records. Liberation Later, thanks to many years of visits by cultural relic workers and generous donations from local collectors, the collection of ancient books in the pavilion has reached 300,000 volumes, including more than 80,000 rare books, which is impressive.
Zunjing Pavilion
Chinese dynasties have respected the study of classics, and every province, county, and county has built a sutra pavilion to collect classics. This pavilion was originally located in Ningbo Fuxue. It is a double-eaves hilltop building rebuilt during the Guangxu period. In 1935, local people in Ningbo moved it here when they raised funds to repair Tianyi Pavilion.
Mingzhou Forest of Steles
There are 173 steles in total, of which nearly 90 were moved from Ningbo Prefecture School, County School, etc. in 1935. The forest of steles preserves the inscriptions on the reconstruction of Fuxue 16 times from the 29th year of Emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty to the 24th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. There are also mottos, proverbs, school fields, school mountains, Jinshi inscriptions and other monuments, which reflect the content of school education, funding sources and talent training.
Qianjin Zhai
During the Republic of China, Ma Lian, a student from Yongxu School, had more than a thousand Jin bricks in his collection. Yan Qian's collection room was called "Qianjin Zhai". Later, it was donated to Tianyi Pavilion and a special room was set up for display, still using its name.
East Garden
It is located in the southeast of Tianyi Pavilion, covering an area of ??about 6,000 square meters. Beginning in 1959, the land was leveled, bamboos and trees were planted, and the stone pavilion, iron cow, and stone tiger were moved here, and the garden began to take shape. In 1974, 69 collected stele stones were embedded in the wall.
In 1982, the East Garden was expanded. The earth was excavated to form a pond, the earth was piled into a mountain, and corridors were built around the garden. Two late Qing Dynasty buildings were also moved to the park. It was completed and opened to the public in 1986.
Baidou Pavilion
A relic from the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, it is a memorial pavilion in front of the tomb. It was originally located on Zuguan Mountain and was moved here in 1959. This pavilion has an exquisite structure and is graceful and gorgeous. The forehead and other places are engraved with patterns such as "fish leaping over the dragon gate", "two lions playing with a ball", "seahorse leaping over the waves", "unicorn recruiting treasure" and other patterns.
Ninghui Hall
It is a Qing Dynasty building with a brick, wood and stone pillar structure. It displays a collection of Ming and Qing tiles, including the "Shenlong Edition" and "Orchid Pavilion Preface" on stone in the Ming Dynasty. , Wen Zhengming's "Xue Wenmingfu's Epitaph" in small regular script, etc. The fragrance of books and ink complement each other.
Exhibition Hall of the Origin of Mahjong
Mahjong is the master of Chinese game culture. It is composed of horse tags, dice and thirty-two Xuanhe tiles from the Song Dynasty. We used the ancestral hall of the family of the inventor of Mahjong, Mr. Chen Zhengyao (a third-rank official during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty), and divided it into three parts: "History and Culture of Mahjong", "Mahjong and Ningbo", and "Display of Mahjong Tiles from Around the World", with Chinese-style , two Western-style chess and card rooms and the "Three Missing One" statue present the history and development of Mahjong to the audience, clarifying the origin of Mahjong. This display focuses on showing the fun and educational nature of Mahjong, and aims to promote healthy and civilized competitive Mahjong. At present, it is the only thematic exhibition hall with the theme of mahjong in China
Qin Clan Ancestral Hall
It was built from 1923 to 1925. It was built by the Qin clan to worship their ancestors. It cost more than 20 silver dollars. The ancestral hall takes the screen wall, stage gate and stage as the central axis, with five rooms and two lanes, three front and back, and side halls and watchtowers on both sides. It covers an area of ??2.6 acres and has a construction area of ??more than 2,000 square meters. The ancestral hall architecture combines wood carvings, brick carvings, Stone carving, gilding, copywriting and other folk crafts are a masterpiece of Ningbo's residential architectural art.
The stage of Qin's branch temple integrates carvings, gold ornaments and paints, making it gleaming and colorful. The roof of the stage is supported by 16 bucket arches. It is a single-eaves resting on the top of the mountain. The dome-shaped caisson is composed of thousands of carved boards and tenon overlaps. It spirals upward, is strong and ingenious, and is a unique trick of Ningbo small wood craftsmanship.
Sedan Hall
Ningbo sedan chair, also known as Wan Gong sedan, is famous for its fine workmanship. The sedan on display is 3 meters high, 1.5 meters long and 95 centimeters wide. It is made of wood with openwork carvings and lacquered with vermilion and gold, giving people a sense of splendor.
It is said that Zhao Gou, the well-off king of the Southern Song Dynasty, was chased by the Jin soldiers. Fortunately, he was rescued by a Ningbo village girl. After escaping from danger, the two made an appointment to bring the village girl into the palace in the coming year, but the secret code of their agreement was leaked, so Zhao Gou decreed that all women in eastern Zhejiang should be crowned kings. When they get married, they can wear phoenix crowns and harems, and ride in dragon and phoenix sedan chairs. When officials meet, civil servants leave The military attache dismounted from the sedan chair. So starting from the Southern Song Dynasty, the custom of Ningbo girls getting married in a sedan chair became more and more popular, and the production of the sedan chair became more and more sophisticated.
South Garden

Yintai Di (Official Residence) Museum
Yintai Di is located on the north bank of Yue Lake, beside Yanyue Embankment. It was built in the third year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1823). It was originally a Jinshi in the 10th year of Jiaqing. , the private residence of Shi Tonghuai, deputy general secretary of the General Affairs Department. The Tong family is a family of poets, calligraphers and etiquette. Tong Huai's son, Tong Huazhong, was a Jinshi in the 18th year of Daoguang's reign. He once served as the Minister of Rites in the South Study and served as the teacher of Emperor Guangxu. His grandson, Tong Xiangxiong, was a Jinshi in the 9th year of Guangxu's reign. Therefore, Tong's Mansion has "one school" "Three Jinshi". During the first phase of the Yuehu Historical and Cultural Scenic Area construction project in 1999, Yintai was restored and displayed and managed by Ningbo Tianyige Museum. It became a thematic museum displaying the home art of Ningbo officials and officials from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. Baiyun Village
Baiyun Village, located in the western suburbs of Ningbo City, was originally the manor of Wan Tai, the head of the Ministry of Household Affairs in the late Ming Dynasty. Because his son Wan Si selected the "Baiyun Collection", After his death, he was buried here, hence the name "Baiyun Village". Mr. Huang Zongxi, a famous thinker in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties in my country and a representative of the "Eastern Zhejiang School", once lectured here, so it is also called the Witness Academy and is now a provincial cultural protection unit. Huang Zongxi (1610-1695), whose courtesy name was Taichong, also known as Lizhou and Nanlei, was born in Huangzhupu, Yuyao. He was knowledgeable and rigorous in his scholarship. He advocated taking Confucian classics as the foundation and history as a supplement. He created an original style of study with the purpose of "applying knowledge to the world" and formed the Eastern Zhejiang School of History, which occupies an important position in the academic history of our country. In the seventh year of Kangxi's reign (1668), he was invited to Ningbo to give lectures and cultivated a large number of academic talents, including the "commoner historian" Wan Sitong and the famous historian and writer Quan Zuwang. The academic style of Siming Dynasty suddenly developed.
Baiyun Village was gradually abandoned in the late Qing Dynasty. It was rebuilt in 1986 and is now managed by Ningbo Tianyige Museum. The main building is a five-bay, three-entry wooden structure bungalow, surrounded by walls, and the environment is quiet.
Fu Tao Room
Fu Tao Room is located at No. 91 Xiaowen Street in the west of the city. It faces from west to east. It is a wooden structure building with five rooms, two lanes and three rooms. Fu Ta Chamber is now managed by Ningbo Tianyige Museum.
