The dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is played by Captain Jack Sparrow Johnny Depp.

Grindelwald is the dark wizard second only to Voldemort in the history of magic. When he was young, he had a relationship with Dumbledore that went beyond friendship (it was written in the original book, you know).

Later, some things caused the two to part ways, and Grindelwald began to build his own organization and army. He once held the Elder Wand, one of the Three Holy Artifacts, but was later defeated by Dumbledore.
