Basic requirements for the opening report of undergraduate graduation design (thesis)
4.2 Contents and requirements of the opening report of undergraduate graduation design (thesis)
The structure of the graduation project (thesis) opening report includes (1) the background and significance of the topic, (2) the basic content of the research and the main problems to be solved, (3) the research methods and measures, (4) the steps and progress of the research work, and (5) the main references. The following are some explanations of related projects:
(1) background and significance of the topic.
It mainly explains the historical background, research status and development trend at home and abroad. The historical background part focuses on the preliminary research and research results of this topic. The current research situation at home and abroad explains the current research situation of this topic at home and abroad, introduces various viewpoints, compares the similarities and differences of various viewpoints, focuses on the current debate focus of this topic, and expounds my own views. The development trend part explains what level the research on this subject has reached at home and abroad, what problems still exist and the development trend. The research direction is pointed out and the solutions are put forward. On the one hand, writing these contents in the opening report can highlight the status and value of this study, that is, the significance of the topic, including the explanation of the theoretical and practical significance of the topic; On the other hand, it can also explain whether the author of the opening report has grasped this research well.
(2) The basic contents of the study and the main problems to be solved.
Compared with the significance of the topic, the basic content of the study and the main problems to be solved are more specific. What are the main problems and conclusions of graduation project (thesis) topic selection? It should be roughly given as the basic content of the research in the opening report, but it must be clearly introduced. The basic content of the study can be divided into several parts.
(3) research methods and measures
Different topics often have different research methods. Whether the research method is correct or not will affect the level of graduation design (thesis), and even success or failure. In the opening report, students should explain what research methods they will adopt. For example, sampling method and questionnaire method in investigation and research, empirical analysis method and comparative analysis method in thesis argumentation, etc. The purpose of stating research methods and measures is to get guidance or suggestions from tutors in these aspects.
(4) Steps and progress of research work. The steps and progress of project research are also the arrangement of project research in time and order. In the process of graduation design (thesis) creation, data collection, first draft writing, thesis revision, etc. It should be carried out in stages, and when each stage starts and ends must be stipulated. In the time arrangement, we should fully consider the relationship and difficulty of the research content in each stage. Students should respond to the schedule specified by the teacher in the task book in the opening report, and finally get approval. In practice, students should generally arrange their time a little earlier, so as not to be too tight and too loose, and not to be anticlimactic, so as not to finish the writing task of graduation project (thesis).
(5) Main references. References should also be listed in the opening report, which actually introduces your preparation, shows that you have understood the relevant data sources of the selected topic, and proves that the topic is theoretically based. Among the listed references, there should be at least 2 foreign documents.
