When playing with wires (wires), you must first determine whether they are genuine or fake, and secondly, determine the grade, otherwise it will be difficult to talk about the effect.
How deep is the water in the wire? There is a local player who is not considered a novice himself. His system is level 100,000. He played with a group of people before and bought a batch of Western wires, which he estimated to have been used for two years, including speaker wires and power wires. We were fortunate to meet each other recently. He came to my place to look at my cables and asked me what I was using. I said AQ, and then he also changed the signal and speakers to AQ. When he came over to compete with the Western Electric speaker cable, I removed it and found that it was a security-specific explosion-proof and fire-resistant cable produced in 2006. As for the power cable that had not been replaced... I even said hehe. I don’t mean to complain about Western Electric, but I’m just giving an example. There are too many tricks in it.
Recently, I changed the old AQ cable that I have used for several years. The Y plug was changed to a banana plug (power amplifiers do not support Y plug, such as naim). The plug is WBT, which requires no soldering. I think it is quite good. It’s easy to use. According to the information, WBT recommends cold pressing and then inserting screws to tighten. But I don’t have the cold-pressed copper sleeve, so I finally thought of a way to wrap it in a circle instead of cold-pressing it. If it is not bandaged, the copper cores that were originally gathered together will fall apart as soon as the screws are tightened, affecting the contact area. After bandaging, no audiophile came to my place and found that my set of signal cables and speaker cables were all from AQ. They asked if they liked AQ very much. I can only say that I use AQ not because AQ is invincible, but because it is for beginners. At that time, the senior master used AQ, and the price was acceptable, so let’s go with this.
There are many tricks and fakes in items such as wires. If someone can lead the way, you will find a fulcrum that you can grasp. It doesn’t matter if a novice doesn’t understand. There will be a master to lead the way, help identify and provide guidance. As time goes by, I will study harder and practice harder. After accumulation, it becomes a set of AQ. In the future, I didn’t frequently change PK’s signal cables. Occasionally, someone would bring some Kadasi or other brands for listening and comparison, which was quite fun.
Supplement: AQ Line Saint has a lot of fakes...a lot...a lot...so you need to be careful when buying them.
