1. At 12 o’clock on the night of late autumn 2016 (November 3), Jiang Ge received a call from Liu Xin, hoping that she would pick her up at the station and take her home. Jiang Ge rushed to the station to pick up Liu Xin, but when he arrived at the apartment building where he lived, Liu Xin's ex-boyfriend was waiting in front of the apartment building, and the three of them had an argument. Jiang Ge then asked Liu Xin to go into the room. He argued with the man and blocked the man from entering the room.
2. Then, Liu Xin and his neighbors heard the screams and immediately called the police. Jiang Ge fell in the corridor, stabbed several times in the neck (the largest wound was 10cm long), and blood was pouring out. After the police arrived, Jiang Ge was immediately sent to the hospital, but due to excessive blood loss, they were unable to save her life.
3. Jiang Ge’s mother said that when Jiang Ge went to pick up Liu Xin at the station, the two kept talking on the phone. This call lasted until 18 minutes before her daughter was killed.
4. On November 24, 2016, the Japanese police confirmed that the suspect was the ex-boyfriend of the girl who lived with him. When questioned by the Japanese police, Chen Shifeng said that he was at home and did not go out at the time of the crime and denied the crime. 42 days after the incident, the Japanese police charged the suspect with homicide.
5. After learning that Chen Shifeng may not necessarily be sentenced to death, Jiang Ge’s mother launched a “campaign to collect signatures to sentence Chen Shifeng to death.”
6. Beginning on December 11, 2017, the public trial of Chen Shifeng’s murder of Jiang Ge began in the Tokyo District Court of Japan. By December 18, 2017, *** held a six-day trial. During the trial on December 18, 2017, the prosecutor recommended that the court sentence the defendant Chen Shifeng to 20 years in prison.
7. On the evening of October 15, 2018, Jiang Ge’s mother announced that she would file a lawsuit against her classmate Liu Xin. On December 22, the Weibo administrator issued an announcement to close Liu Xin's Weibo account with immediate effect. The account engaged in consumption and attacks on the victim's family members through private messages, likes, etc.
8. In 2020, Jiang Ge’s mother, Jiang Qiulian, filed a lawsuit against Liu Xin on the grounds of a right to life dispute, saying that Liu Xin refused to accept the indictment, and the court finally chose to serve it by announcement. The court has scheduled a hearing on the case at 9 a.m. on June 30, 2020, at the Xiazhuang Court of Chengyang District Court, Qingdao City.
9. June 1, 2020, Qingdao, Shandong. A pre-trial conference will be held on June 5 in the case of Jiang Ge’s mother Jiang Qiulian suing Liu Xin over the right to life dispute. Jiang Qiulian said that the judge did not disclose the purpose and content of the pre-trial meeting, and it is still unknown whether Liu Xin will appear.
10. In July 2020, Jiang Ge’s mother Jiang Qiulian responded to the media and stated that the last important evidence material for the prosecution of Liu Xin (now renamed Liu Mouxi) in China had been retrieved from Japan and certified. The lawsuit Preparations are about to enter the final stages.
