! I'm not an expert. Idol slash guitar enthusiasts only have the Historic series, which is the most expensive. Two types.
1. 1963 ES-335 Block, the most expensive one, $6845. The obvious feature is the square inscription. Slim Tape neck. Shorter fender. Black tone volume knob. Tulip pegs.
2. 1959 ES-335 Dot Reissue is slightly cheaper than 63, $5649. Points of note. Fat neck. Long guard. Gold tone volume knob.
3. Larry Calton’s signature MR 335. $5,268. The prototype is LC’s own 335 from 1968.
The next two models are models launched in 2008. It can be seen as a simplified version of historical.
4. ES-335 Dot Fat Neck, a simplified version of the 1959 335. The basic configuration is similar to the 1959 335. $4934.
5. ES-335 Block Inlay A simplified version of 1963 335. The basic configuration is similar to the 1963 $335.4934.
6. ES-359 launched in 2008. Deluxe version of ES-339. $4793. The body is one size smaller than the 335. Some luxurious configurations are used. Large square mark, multi-layer binding, golden accessories and so on. The small body has a more compact and solid sound.
7. 2009 Trini Lopez Reissue $4469
8. ES-335 Dot Figured Gloss The regular version of es-335 with Figured Maple Top. There are many differences in hardware from other high-end models such as the Historic series. The most obvious one is the use of grove kidney-shaped pegs. Milky white plastic parts, such as gear caps and so on.
9. ES-335 Dot Plain Gloss Ordinary model 335, without Flame maple veneer. It’s basically the same as the one above, the only difference is the veneer. Most of the friends I know in the forum have ES335s of this type or the one above with veneers. There are slight differences in configurations in different years, but the basic content remains the same.
10. BB King Lucille
Basically these are the ES models currently announced on the Gibson website in the products. It's strange that ES 339 is no longer available. Or maybe I didn't find it, or has it been discontinued? Ha ha.
The difference between 339 and 335 lies in the size of the guitar body. There are also two models, and the main difference lies in the neck.
ps:
CS 336 was launched in 2001. Different from the ES series, it belongs to the Archtop series. CS probably means Carved Solid, I guess?
The method of CS is different from that of ES. CS is hollowed out in solid wood and covered with a solid maple lid. In addition, the body of 336 is also slightly smaller, so the sound is closer to that of a solid body piano. .
The ES is made of two layers of plywood, with a solid wood block sandwiched in the middle.
