Preface of the new edition (abstract)
Text/Huang Shuzhi
In recent years, in addition to the boring history, we can find a new way to provide knowledge for guqin lovers and make ordinary readers like reading. Therefore, Yan Xiaoxing's book "Modern Guqin Art" can generate interest and understanding of guqin.
In the past eight years, this book has been published in two editions, with an astonishing print run of 20,000, which has received rave reviews, which is unusual among Guqin works.
The author writes in the form of traditional notes and anecdotes. In more than 100 films written by modern Qin people, readers can feel the interesting features of Qin people that have been passed down for 3,000 years.
Traditional notes belong to novelists, many of which are based on gossip and hearsay. However, this old story is well founded. It not only attaches biographies of relevant people in the book at the end of the article to facilitate readers to understand the content, but also indicates the literature on which each article is based.
At the end of the book, the bibliography and copyright information of the whole book are listed, so this book is a serious piano history besides interesting anecdotes.
Recently, Xiaoxing has added, modified, rewritten or added chapters to Modern Guqin Art Painting, so that as many as 30% of the books have been modified and added, and the picture is even three times that of the original. Will bring more unforgettable stories to readers.
The deeds contained in Shi Shuo Xin Yu, the earliest anecdote note in China, are mostly adopted by later history books. When the history of his new piano is written, Xiaoxing's book will be a necessary historical material.
Preface to the first edition (abstract)
Text/Cheng Gongliang
Mr. Yan Xiaoxing approached the piano but didn't play it, which made him have a relatively objective observation; He is young but has a certain knowledge of Chinese studies, which makes him superior to young people who only receive modern education in writing methods, angles and concepts.
Consulting and collecting materials is both the basis of his writing and his interest. He runs around and enjoys it. Once he sees the doubt or the clue is broken, he will find another way to keep looking, and he will not give up until the result is achieved. In this way, when you write, you will be very comfortable.
He is diligent in thinking and writing. In recent years, a large number of manuscripts of modern piano history are the fruits of his hard work. He wrote the story of modern guqin with rigorous attitude and popular brushwork, and collected a large number of precious pictures and materials, which made these anecdotes not only the talk of piano lovers, but also provided many clues for today's musicians to study the history of modern piano.
For many readers who want to know about the history and culture of Guqin, we might as well take this illustrated little book as a window of exploration. For those who play the piano and learn it, it is a pleasure to read a few pages of modern guqin Yihua after playing the piano.

Postscript of the first edition (abstract)
Text/Yan Xiaoxing
When I was a teenager, I liked reading unofficial history's notes and anecdotes. I linger on nothing but interesting stories and meaningful words. Now I have leisure to think back occasionally, and I feel that even if those stories are reliable, there are inevitably words that hurt people. Therefore, when writing this first story about guqin, the first thing that comes to mind is seeking truth from facts-fortunately, those people and things that really existed are so interesting that they can offset the roughness of the text.
When the prosperity disappears like a smoke cloud, everything turns into a few questions and answers in the autumn moon and spring breeze, jokes between strings and scrolls, and the people and things that attract the most attention are always those who are chic, brilliant, warm, clear, brave, calm, open and elegant, and others are just foil or even contrast. Just as this little book can't reflect a comprehensive history of modern piano, I don't need to take full responsibility, but I don't deny that I have my own feelings and thoughts on the choice of theme.
At the end of the book, there is a catalogue of collected documents, which is also for seeking truth. At the same time, I interviewed some historical witnesses and insiders, used some unpublished manuscripts, and consulted some reliable online materials very carefully.

Text/Yan Xiaoxing
When this book was first published continuously in a periodical, its title was "Applause Record by the Piano". Generally, anything admirable, comforting, ridiculous, deplorable or shocking can be handed in. Perhaps it is because of the intensive information and diversified emotions that readers have not been confined to the piano garden for more than ten years, and they have been printed in several forms many times. Although the cover design and materials of the previous editions are different, the text is basically the same. This time it is completely updated on the basis of the original, and it is an updated version.
The novelty of the revised edition can be reflected in the following three aspects:
First, according to the newly discovered historical materials and academic research results, seven articles were added, with a number of 100 articles; At the same time, many places have been rewritten and expanded, and more than 30 mistakes have been corrected. The overall length has increased by about a quarter to nearly 30,000 words, and the content is more substantial and accurate.
Secondly, compared with the first edition, the number of pictures that have not been clearly replaced has increased in recent years, and the number is more than three times that of the original edition, nearly 300, including many rare pictures that were first published. Full-color printing, try to restore the picture information completely.
Thirdly, on the basis of the original name index, the index of guqin and qinqu is added, and the picture catalogue is listed separately, which provides convenience for quick search.
Although this is a popular booklet, there are still academic concepts and history nailed to it ... Thinking about the staging of modern guqin history ... "The number of words is subtle", which I can't do, but what I think and feel is not limited to zero. Look forward to interested readers.
