The Ultraman series (Japanese: ウルトラマンシリ_ズ) is the "Tsubaraya Production Company" founded by director Eiji Tsuburaya, the "God of Tokusatsu" in Japan. "(_Tani プロダクション, formerly known as: Tsuburaya Co., Ltd.) is a fantasy tokusatsu series of TV series launched since the 1960s.
Beginning with "Ultra Q" in 1966, and starting from "The First Ultraman" which was just broadcast in the same year, the mode of "giant heroes fighting monsters" was established.
In the Ultraman works of the Showa era ("Ultraman" to "Ultraman Eddie"), the origins of the Ultraman heroes are all set as space beings in the "M78 Nebula". (Exception: Ultraman Leo and his younger brother Ultraman Astra are set as the Ultraman of the Leo L77 star; Ultraman Jonas is set as the Ultraman of the U40 Ultra Star. Terman).
But since "Ultraman Tiga" in 1996, this traditional concept has been broken, and Ultraman has been added with different form-changing abilities.
