I. Application Conditions and Materials
1, application conditions
There are two ways to enter Singapore Polytechnic. One is the Singapore O-Level exam, which is also the main application method. The other is that the results of the college entrance examination can still be applied for, but they need to be evaluated according to personal circumstances. Please consult us for specific requirements.
2. Materials required for application
As long as the materials are complete and meet the requirements of the school you apply for, it is relatively easy to apply for a visa. The completed application form and all necessary original documents will be submitted directly to the selected school.
Documents to be submitted:
1)6 passport size standard photos (only photos with white background are accepted);
2) Copy of passport page and the last page of the applicant: photo (which must be clearly displayed), personal data, passport validity period and signature (if the passport has been extended or changed, the passport extension should be indicated on the second page of the passport, and the changed page should be clearly copied).
3) Original notarized birth certificate of the applicant (in Chinese and English): A notarized birth certificate can be issued at the local police station where the registered permanent residence is located, and information such as birth time, place of birth, parents' names, whether they are alive or not can be stated in the certificate letter, which will be stamped by the police station and brought to the local notary office. You need to bring a photo, household registration book and ID card, and another photo to the notary office for filing.
4) The original notarial certificate of the applicant's diploma (in Chinese and English) and the original notarial certificate of the applicant's transcript (in Chinese and English);
5) Original notarial certificate of bank deposit (in Chinese and English).
Second, the advantages of studying abroad
1, learning mode
Students studying in Singapore Institute of Technology mostly talk about "many projects" and "many demonstrations", which are the characteristics of the Institute of Technology. They don't have to attend classes regularly every day, but spend a lot of time doing projects with their classmates and preparing ppt.
The Institute of Technology attaches great importance to students' actual combat ability. After learning professional knowledge, test the learning results through projects and demonstrations, because the teachers of the Institute of Technology think that "knowledge that cannot be used in actual combat is an empty theory". In addition to large classes, there are many small classes of remedial classes. What I was most afraid of before was small class counseling. The teacher will constantly give you interaction and ask questions. They say it's not laziness, but interactive learning. what do you think?
I have been in the Polytechnic for a long time, and the best summary is that it is difficult to pass the exam. The score of science and engineering is not calculated purely according to the exam. RP friends should feel the deepest ~
2, professional choice
Although the Institute of Technology in Singapore is called the Institute of Technology, not all schools are engineering departments. The business, design and humanities departments of the Institute of Technology are also quite strong. If you put the majors of five polytechnics together, there are only those you can't think of, and there is no major that polytechnics can't do. For example, Singapore Institute of Technology can offer "perfume" major for three years.
Relatively speaking, most majors in most universities in China have little to do with employment after graduation. However, it is not unusual to set up a new major in polytechnic. With the progress of the times and science and technology, the specialty must also keep pace with the times. Moreover, the existing majors are constantly upgraded and new disciplines are added. And absolutely employment-oriented.
3. Extracurricular activities
Speaking of CCA (extracurricular activities), many students who have just entered science and engineering always think that CCA is just for fun and a waste of time. However, the Institute of Technology has always encouraged everyone to participate in CCA, and it is also stipulated that there will be no classes in the whole school at some time every week, so that students can participate in CCA.
Not only provide venues and facilities, but also spend a lot of money to hire tutors and coaches to train students and fully sponsor students to participate in some local or foreign related competitions.
For many foreign students, in retrospect, it was not a waste of time, but the development of everyone's various abilities.
4. Employment wage
Singapore's official statistical report 20 19 shows that the employment rate of science and engineering students who find jobs within six months after graduation exceeds 89.5%, and the average monthly salary of graduates is around S $2,350 (about 12000 RMB).
If you are an international student, every international student must sign a contract with the Ministry of Education of Singapore when entering the school, that is, he must work in a company registered in Singapore for at least three years in the first three years after completing his studies. If you don't want to work in Singapore or break the contract, you will be sued. Of course, unless you really don't want to work in Singapore, you have to pay back the grant from the Ministry of Education.
5. Further study
Diplomas from Singapore Institute of Technology are widely recognized around the world. You don't need to pass any exams, but you can apply for further study directly by relying on the credits and comprehensive performance of the Institute of Technology.
First of all, after graduating from science and engineering, you can apply directly to universities in Singapore (National University, Nantah, etc. ), or you can go to famous universities in Europe, America and Australia for further study (such as Ivy League University in the United States and eight famous public universities in Australia), or you can even go directly to overseas universities to study for a master's degree. Several friends who studied green building before all went directly to Australia to skip the undergraduate course.
