What's the experience of volunteering at the Shanghai Tennis Masters?
I just participated in the Shanghai Rolex Masters, so I'm here to share my volunteer experience and feelings with you. Shanghai Rolex Masters has a lot of work. My job is to serve the stadium, that is, to provide towels, drinks and new balls before the game. During the game, I can sit on the court and watch the players play at close range. After the game, I'm going to clean the venue and pack my things. Compared with many other volunteers, our work is very happy. We can see the contestants up close, which makes many volunteers far behind. However, we volunteers never ask for signatures and photos at work, but if we take off our volunteers' clothes and certificates, we are allowed to interact with the players as spectators outside the stadium.

Volunteers who serve in our stadium must clean the stadium before all competitions begin. Because the Zhong Qi Tennis Center is in the suburbs, there are many birds, especially the planes at Hongqiao Airport. Many birds fly around in droves, among which pigeons are the most! There are many birds and natural bird droppings. I finally know why I like to say shit to players, so we have to clean the tennis court. We cleaned all the competition and training venues. I was in a bad mood at that time! Because bird droppings need to be wiped with cloth, and the cloth needs to be washed! Every morning when I go to clean the site, there are many dead moths or insects, both alive and dead. The most frustrating thing is that the wings of moths can't be swept. If they are swept, they will become foam and have to be wiped with cloth. Even if I sweep it into the dustpan, it will fly away as soon as the wind blows. I have to clean the ground, so I have a lot of work every morning! Every morning, I go to the central arena to deliver a lot of water, drinks, towels, tennis and bananas.

Then talk about the feelings on the court. The sun is very strong in the afternoon and I don't feel good. The lights are very strong at night and the weather is very cold. But there is a chance to be captured by the camera, although only for a few seconds!

Of course, we have access to many big names. Once in our venue, it was a game of French player Gasquet. I waited for him to come out at the player's exit (at this time, I have changed my clothes box certificate). At this time, the driver pulled the player who lost first and left a message: Let the next player wait, and I will send this away first. I am sweating like a pig. Generally, two players use a car to travel between the central stadium and our venue. Because Gasquet won the game, he will stay and sign, and the players who lost the game will come out and wait in the car outside the court first. When Gasquet came out, I asked for an autograph and told him as an audience that the driver had left and I would wait for him to come back. So I stayed with Gasquet for nearly ten minutes, during which many fans came to ask him to sign a photo. Actually, it's embarrassing to stay so long!

When there is no competition, we will also change clothes and go out to watch big-name training, so we need to sign. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Nishikori Kei and so on. I've seen them train. What makes us feel most sorry is that we didn't have the chance to watch the match between Nishikori Kei, Ferrer and Wawrinka in our stadium! Watching the game through a wall is completely different from watching the game in the stands. Even if we can't be volunteers in the future, I think everyone should go to the scene to watch the tennis match. It's really wonderful!

Finally, let me talk about how to become a volunteer in the Shanghai Rolex Masters. The selection of each school is different, but as long as you learn English well and have volunteer experience, you can basically go!
