Make iPhone perfectly support Hotmail and Gmail's exchange pushmail
Everyone knows that iPhone supports pushmail technology, which can receive emails in real time.
There are two main types of pushmail supported by iPhone, one is Microsoft exchange system, and the other is Apple original mobileme, which needs to be charged.
In addition to the above two, you can also set Gmail and Yahoo when setting up your mailbox. IPhone has built-in support for Gmail and Yahoo.
But in fact, the built-in support of Gmal and Yahoo is based on IMAP technology. Although it can basically receive emails in real time, it is designed for traditional computers, with large traffic and low efficiency. In fact, it is not suitable for mobile systems like iPhone, and it can only be called quasi-"pushmail". For students with limited traffic, it is a great burden to receive emails at any time.
In addition, because mobileme charges, the best solution for sending and receiving emails in real time for iPhone is exchange, which is efficient and fast, and supports remote synchronization of mailboxes, calendars and contacts at any time.
(See/read-htm-tid-1073068.html for the post about sharing calendars and using the exchange function of iPhone. )
With exchange, you no longer have to worry about losing your mobile phone and address book, let alone spending money on similar services. exchange is synchronized in real time.
In the past, commercial mail systems supported exchange. Now, both Microsoft and Google have announced that they will provide additional free exchange support for these two free email systems on the iPhone!
So how to set Gmail and Hotmail on iPhone to support Exchange?
Here are the steps:
gmail
1。 Open Settings-Mail, Address Book, Calendar-Add Account
2。 Select Microsoft Exchange at the top (be careful not to select Gmail).
3. Enter your gmail email address, the field column is empty, and the user column is followed by your email address (note that it contains the email address of @gmail.com) and password. You can choose any name you like in the description.
4。 Click Next, iPhone will connect to the server for diagnosis, and then it will ask the address of the server. Please enter: m.google.com.
5. After clicking Next, you can select the content that needs to be synchronized with google server. If you select a calendar and contacts, your calendar and address book will be stored in Google's server synchronously. (When synchronizing, if your iPhone is not a new phone but you already have a local address book on your phone, remember to keep it. Please use itunes to back up the address book on your computer before the first synchronization, so as to avoid misoperation to restore the address book. )
And then it's over!
Hotmail
1。 Open Settings-Mail, Address Book, Calendar-Add Account
2。 Select Microsoft Exchange at the top.
3. Enter your Hotmail email address, the domain name column is blank, and then enter your email address (note that it includes the email address of @hotmail.com or msn.com or live.com) and password in turn in the user name column. You can take any name you like in the description.
4。 Click Next, iPhone will connect to the server for diagnosis, and then it will ask the address of the server. Please enter: m.hotmail.com.
5. After clicking Next, you can select the content that needs to be synchronized with the Microsoft server. If you select a calendar and a contact, your calendar and address book will be saved synchronously on the Microsoft server. (When synchronizing, if your iPhone is not a new phone but you already have a local address book on your phone, remember to keep it. Please use itunes to back up the address book on your computer before the first synchronization, so as to avoid misoperation to restore the address book. )
You're done, enjoy the convenience of sending and receiving emails in time!
If your iPhone has a local address book, remember to save it.
Note that if you think pushmail consumes a lot of power, you can reset-email, address book, calendar-to get new data, turn off push, and then turn it on every hour to get it.
