In the case of abnormal death in medical and health institutions, the police involved in the death investigation shall sign the corresponding columns of the medical certificate of death (inference) and the funeral certificate of death of residents; The police station where the deceased citizen's household registration is located or the actual place of residence shall affix the special seal for the household registration of the police station in the corresponding columns of the medical certificate (inference) issued by the medical and health institution and the death and funeral certificate of the residents.
(3) The death certificate issued by the forensic doctor or judicial authentication institution entrusted by the public security and judicial organs in case of abnormal death without medical treatment.
(4) If a citizen dies abroad, the relatives of the deceased shall apply for the domestic death medical certificate with the original and translated death medical certificate issued by overseas medical institutions, the death certificate confirmed by China embassies and consulates abroad, the household registration book and ID card of the deceased, and the resident ID card of the agent to the social security health service center or township health center where the deceased is registered. Relatives of the deceased must hold the domestic medical certificate of death, the household registration book and ID card of the deceased, and the resident ID card of the agent to cancel the account.
Legal basis: Article 8 of the Regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) Municipality on Household Registration. When a citizen dies, the head of the household, relatives, dependents or neighbors shall, within one month before entering the city for burial, declare the death registration to the household registration authority and cancel the household registration. If a citizen dies in his temporary residence, the household registration organ of the temporary residence shall notify the household registration organ of the permanent residence to cancel his household registration. If a citizen dies due to an accident or the cause of death is unknown, the head of the household and the discoverer shall immediately report to the local police station or the people's committee of a township or town.
