2. Take Honda's new Accord as an example ~ The gearbox of the new Accord has several gears: P, R, N, D, 3, 2, 1:
P stands for parking gear, which is used when parking (the engine is turned off and idling for a long time)! ~
R stands for reverse gear. I believe I don't need to explain this! ~
N stands for neutral, which means the same as neutral in manual gear. It's for short-term parking! ~
D stands for forward gear. In this gear, the gearbox will automatically switch to 1 ~ 5 ~ according to the speed and throttle.
3 is also a forward gear. In this gear, the gearbox will automatically switch at 1 ~ 3, and will not shift up to 4 and 5. It can be used as a restricted gear when the traffic is not smooth, which can avoid jumping between the third gear and the fourth gear! ~ (How to avoid it will be introduced below)
2 means second gear. In this gear, the gearbox is in the second gear, which is used as a limit gear when starting on wet roads or driving slowly, to avoid jumping between 1 and the second gear, and between the second gear and the third gear! ~
1 is 1 file. In this gear, the gearbox is in first gear. I don't need to explain this, just look at the situation:)
Other gears that may appear in automatic transmission vehicles include S gear, L gear (such as Honda Fit) and a snowflake button (such as Buick Sail) and OD OFF button on the gearbox.
S means exercise. In this gear, the gearbox can shift gears freely, but the chance of shifting gears is delayed, which keeps the engine at a high speed for a long time and increases the power of the vehicle. Obviously, this will increase fuel consumption.
L stands for low gear, which should be the same as 1 of the new Accord. In this gear, the transmission will remain at 1 without upshifting.
The snowflake button means to start on a wet road. When this button is pressed, the vehicle will start from the second gear instead of 1 gear, so as to reduce the torque output and prevent the vehicle from slipping when starting on wet roads.
The 3: od off button indicates that the highest gear is prohibited. Vehicles with this button often do not have D3, because the fourth gear of the highest gear (4-speed gearbox) has been prohibited by pressing this button, which is equivalent to D3.
It should be noted that in some vehicles, the number 2 above the gearbox does not represent single second gear, but 1 ~ 2 gear (such as Buick). When this gear is used, the gearbox will automatically switch between 1 and 2 without upgrading to a higher gear.
Manual and automatic. The gearbox may not have that many gears. Except for P, R and N (these three gears are necessary for automatic transmission), the forward gear is a D gear (such as FAW mazda 6), and the functions of other gears can be realized one by one through manual mode.
4. Driving skills
The biggest advantage of automatic parking is convenience, especially when there is traffic jam, especially when the traffic jam is uphill. At present, automatic transmission is becoming more and more popular. From the perspective of advanced countries, most vehicles have transitioned to automatic transmission, and it is the trend of automobile development that automatic transmission replaces manual transmission as the main vehicle type for daily driving. Many riders are always driving the automatic transmission, so it is certainly possible to drive the automatic transmission, but if you choose the right gear according to the road traffic conditions, then you can greatly reduce the burden of the automatic transmission and reduce the wear and tear of the transmission. In order to know how to use the limit gear correctly and reasonably, riders should first clearly know the shift timing and shift interval of their vehicle gearbox. On the contrary, if you step on the accelerator slowly, as long as the vehicle speed is less than 2000, the gearbox will move to the next gear to meet the driver's intention and save fuel. In normal driving, the shift timing of the new Accord is generally 2400 rpm. When the vehicle speed is 20, 40, 60 and 80 yards respectively, the gear will rise to 2, 3, 4 and 5. As I said above, the gearbox is not a fixed shift timing. It can shift gears in advance or later according to your intention.
(Note: The new Accord adopts the 5th forward gear. At present, most automatic cars on the market are 4 forward gears, and more advanced high-end cars are 6 forward gears. There is not much difference in actual operation. )
I think many riders in it have heard that the automatic gear can be upgraded in advance and accelerated faster when it is stepped on and released ~ this concept is not completely correct. It is correct to step on the loose in advance (but the timing of stepping on the loose should also be chosen well), but this is at the expense of acceleration to achieve the purpose of relatively saving fuel, and the vehicle cannot be accelerated faster.
5. Similarly, when the vehicle speed is around 70, the gearbox will be upgraded to 5th gear in advance. In this way, you can shift gears in advance without affecting too much acceleration. The shift timing of different vehicles may be different, and riders can choose the timing to do the above operations according to the shift situation of their own vehicles while knowing their own vehicles. Moreover, even if it is not to shift gears in advance, it is beneficial to use the throttle to properly control the shift time.
