Medal introduction for the table tennis competition of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou

On June 15, 2023, the event medal "Hushan" was officially released, designed by the Director of the Industrial Design Department of the China Academy of Art Zhang Junjie led Jiang Yuqin and other design team members to complete the creation after repeated revisions and demonstrations in the past two years.

The medal is named "Hushan", and its design is inspired by the Liangzhu Civilization of five thousand years, showing the culture of Jiangnan in China and presenting the landscape of Hangzhou. For the first time, the square jade cong and the round medal are integrated into one, and the protruding and smart lines on the front outline a picture of Hangzhou with "clouds and mountains on three sides and a city on one side". The overall design is unique and highly recognizable, embodying the meaning of beauty and perfection, harmony but difference.

The design image of the medal brings together three world cultural heritage sites in Hangzhou - the West Lake, the Grand Canal, and the Liangzhu Ancient City ruins. The design adopts the "fusion of square and circle" for the first time, and breaks the conventional format of placing the Asian Games logo in the center of the medal, placing the logo on an open scroll, reflecting the open and inclusive oriental aesthetics.
