Military oath can be combined with conferring titles and clothing. The oath must be solemn and neat. Take the oath in an educational place as far as possible. When taking the oath as a unit, a flag welcoming ceremony and a flag sending ceremony are generally held.

Before a soldier takes the oath, the head of a unit (detachment) shall educate the oath taker on the nature, purpose, task and military mission of the China People's Liberation Army. After the swearing-in, the deponent shall sign the company's affidavit. The head of the company will submit the oath list to the head of the army, who will sign it and submit it to the headquarters for the record.
