Hello
This is a double-handled guitar
It is also called a "double-headed guitar"
It has 12 strings + 6 strings together. Double-handled guitar
Introducing the twelve-string guitar. Note that I am not going to introduce the 6-string double-handled guitar:
The twelve-string guitar is a guitar with 12 strings. It is very similar to an ordinary guitar, except that the fingerboard is a little wider (similar to the width of a classical guitar), and it has the six strings and open string scales of an ordinary guitar, and the additional six strings have lower tension (thinner, softer), respectively. Interspersed next to the original six strings, the distance between them is quite close, but the distance from the fingerboard is slightly higher than the original six strings. The tuning method is to use the original six strings as the base tone, and the extra six strings are tuned. It is the harmony of the original six strings. For example, the first and second strings are a group, the first string is "E", the second string is tuned to an octave higher "E", and the third and fourth strings are a group. The third string is "B", and the fourth string is tuned to an octave higher "B". This is a complete octave harmony. As for the fifth, sixth strings and subsequent groups, they are tuned in thirds or fourths, so they are tuned It is more complicated than ordinary guitars and takes a lot more time~
Then...how to play a twelve-string guitar? In fact, it is very similar to the general guitar playing method. Because every two strings are very close, one finger can hold down two strings. In other words, there is no difference in how to play chords, but when playing, you will find that because they are tuned into harmony relationship, the three-dimensional sense of space when playing (you can try pressing the fifth fret of the second string of the guitar, and then strum the first and second strings at the same time to experience this three-dimensional sense), it is really amazing! Usually this kind of guitar is mainly played with chords (of course, scattered chords can also be played). The feeling of playing one guitar is like playing it with many guitars, which is quite magical! The playing method is similar to that of a six-string guitar. There are more strings and the width of the neck will become wider. Two strings must be pressed at the same time. Its charm is that it can play a wide range of sounds that cannot be played on a six-string guitar. The tuning method of the 12-string The 1st and 2nd strings have the same pitch as their corresponding secondary strings. The 3456 string and its corresponding secondary string are one octave lower (the secondary string of 3456 is one octave higher than the main string). The playing method is the same as that of a 6-string acoustic guitar. Yes, since each main string of the 12-string instrument has a secondary string, the playing effect is very nice and has more depth than the 6-string instrument!
