Turning stone into gold
A mage once said: "Handle your own affairs with wisdom, and treat others with compassion." Most people will think that they should use wisdom to observe their own affairs. It seems to be easier to do it from the heart, but it is more difficult to understand the hearts of others with compassion. In fact, wisdom and compassion can complement each other. According to Buddhism, the true magic is revealed by wisdom, and true compassion must be driven by the power of wisdom. Sometimes, small means are needed to save all sentient beings.
Classic Story
As we all know, Zen Master Ikkyu is a famous Zen master in Japan. He is the embodiment of wisdom. The marriage of monk Ikkyu to his wife is a typical story of doing good with wisdom. How can a monk marry a wife? That's how it turned out.
One day, Zen Master Ikkyu was meditating in his room. At this time, a believer came to him and cried to him that he was in deep debt due to medical treatment. Now his creditors are forcing him to come to collect debts every day. He is always on tenterhooks and only dares to go home in the middle of the night. He really didn't want to live such a life, he really wanted to die.
Zen Master Yixiu persuaded him politely and asked him if there was any other way besides death. The believer shook his head and said no, and said that he had nothing except a young daughter. This puts Yixiu in a difficult position.
When the believer saw this, he burst into tears again and said: "I can't live anymore, I can't live anymore. It's a pity that my daughter has to suffer and live alone in the world."
When Zen Master Yiyi heard this, he hurriedly said to him: "Oh! I have a solution. Don't you have a daughter? You can find a son-in-law for her who can help you pay off your debts!"
"'When the believer heard this, he was stunned again and said desperately: Master! You don't know something! My daughter is just an eight-year-old child, who will marry her?'"
"Then marry your daughter to me! I will pay off your debt." Zen Master Yixiu said to him with a smile.
After hearing this, the believer was shocked and said: "This... this is a joke! You are my master, how can you be my son-in-law? Not to mention that my daughter is still so young!"

However, Zen Master Yixiu didn't care. He just waved his hand and said to him: "No problem. I will be your son-in-law and I will definitely be able to help you pay off your debt. You should go back and prepare for this as soon as possible!"
This believer had always believed in the wisdom and ability of Zen Master Ikkyu. After returning home, he immediately announced the matter to his neighbors: On a certain day of the month, Zen Master Ikkyu would come to his home to be his son-in-law. So the news spread to ten and hundreds, and the news of divorce and marriage caused a sensation in the whole city. On the day of the wedding, the onlookers packed the doors of the believers.
When Ikkyu saw this, he immediately set up tables and chairs in front of the door, took out the Four Treasures of the Study, and began to write and write. Then he took out "Crazy Clouds Gathering" and signed books for book signings. "The Collection of Kuangyun" was originally a collection of poems, songs, and books, and the addition of Ikkyu's signature was the icing on the cake. When everyone saw it, they naturally rushed to buy it, so much so that they forgot that they were just there to join in the fun. After a while, several large baskets of money were accumulated.
Zen Master Yixiu asked the believer: "Is this money enough for you to pay off your debt?"
The believer was so happy that he almost shed tears and said repeatedly: "Enough! Enough! Thank you Master!" Thank you, Master! Master, you are so powerful, you can make so much money in one go!" He said, kowtow to one body and thank him.
Zen Master Yixiu hurriedly pulled him up and said: "The problem has been solved, my task has been completed, and I don't have to be a son-in-law. I'll just be your master!" After that, he turned around and left.

Those who are kind to understanding will have no worries, while those who are not kind to understanding will sit in a city of sorrow every day. In life, kindness and compassion are important, but intelligence and wit are also indispensable. People in this world should use their smart minds for good deeds. This is how to save the world and save people.
