In Windows XP, you can use the following optional parameters in the Sysprep command: -activated- does not reset the grace period for Windows product activation. This parameter can only be used if Windows installation is activated before leaving the factory.

Important: The product key used to activate the Windows installation must match the product key on the COA label on a specific computer.

-audit- Restart the computer to enter Factory mode without generating a new security ID (SID) or processing any items in the [OEMRunOnce] section of the Winbom.ini file. Use this command line parameter only when the computer is already in factory mode.

-bmsd- fill in all available mass storage devices in the [sysprepassstorage] section. -clean- clears the database of key devices used in the [syspreppassstorage] section of the Sysprep.inf file.

-The factory is restarted and the network is enabled, but there is no "Welcome to Windows" or "Minimum Installation". This parameter is used to update drivers, run plug-and-play enumeration, install programs, test, configure computers with customer data, or make other configuration changes in a factory environment. For companies that use disk imaging (or cloning) software, the "factory" mode can reduce the number of images needed.

After completing all tasks in Factory mode, run the Sysprep.exe file with the -reseal parameter to prepare for the end user to deliver the computer.

-Force shutdown-Shut down the computer after the -Sysprep.exe file is completed.

Note: This parameter is used for computers using ACPI BIOS. When the Sysprep.exe file shows the default behavior, the computer cannot be shut down normally.

-Minimally configure Microsoft Windows XP Professional to use minimal installation instead of welcome to Windows. This parameter has no effect on Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, and the first running experience is always "Welcome to Windows".

Note that if you plan to use the Sysprep.inf file for automatic minimum installation, you must run the Sysprep tool with the -mini switch, or click in the GUI interface to select the Minimum Installation check box. If you don't choose to run the minimum installation, Windows XP Professional will run by default. Welcome to Windows.

Use the -pnp command line parameter only when it is necessary to detect and install legacy non-plug and play devices. Do not use sysprep -pnp command-line parameters on computers that only use plug-and-play devices. Otherwise, it will increase the time required for the first operation experience, which will not benefit users.

Note: If unsigned drivers must be used, use the UpdateInstalledDrivers=yes parameter and OemPnPDriversPath= and DriverSigningPolicy=ignore instead of the -pnp command line parameter to provide a more seamless installation.

-Quiet-Run the Sysprep.exe file without displaying the on-screen confirmation message. This parameter is useful if you want to run Sysprep.exe files automatically. For example, if you want to run the Sysprep.exe file immediately after unattended installation, you should add the sysprep -quiet command to the [GuiRunOnce] section of the Unattend.txt file.

-reboot- Forces the computer to restart automatically, and then starts the specified Windows Welcome, Minimum Installation or Factory Mode. This parameter is useful if you want to audit the computer and verify that the first operation experience is running correctly.

-reseal- Clears the Event Viewer log and prepares to deliver the computer to the client. "Welcome to Windows" or "Minimum Installation" is set to start at the next computer restart. If you run the sysprep -factory command, you must package the installation as the last step of the preinstallation process. To do this, run the Sysprep -reseal command or click the repackage button in the Sysprep dialog box.
