Surfing in Kanagawa, created by Japanese Edo painter Yoshiyoshi Gexi, means "human beings are indomitable in the face of difficulties" and is the most representative "masterpiece" in Japanese Ukiyo-e painting. Recently, the Japanese government publicly decided to discharge the polluted water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the sea, which caused widespread criticism. Weibo's China illustrator with the ID "A boy who loves to learn" created "Surfing in Tritium" to protest.
In an interview with the Global Times reporter, the illustrator said that the core message conveyed by this painting is that "the Japanese government should not dump nuclear polluted water", otherwise the consequences faced by all mankind will be the same as in the painting.
