Writing skills of English practical writing
I. Letters

Letters are divided into two parts: envelopes and contents.

1, how to write the envelope.

Write the name and address of the sender on the front left corner of the English envelope. Write the address and name of the recipient on the left side of the front center of the envelope.

The place names on English envelopes are from small to large, which can account for two to five lines according to their length.

The sender only writes his name, not his title. However, recipients usually add titles before their names to show politeness and respect. For people without official or academic titles, Mr., Mrs. or Ms. are usually written before their names.

Generally speaking, the writing of envelopes rarely appears in the English composition of the senior high school entrance examination.

2. content.

English letters can generally be divided into the following parts.

1) The title indicates the address of the writer and the sending date.

2) The name and address of the recipient

3) Address

4) The body of the letter

5) Concluding remarks

6) Signature

Sometimes, questioners will ask candidates to write emails. E-mail writing is basically the same as letter writing. It's just that the complexity of the letters on the envelope is gone.

(Beijing, 2005) Write a clear and logical essay of not less than 50 words according to the main idea of Chinese.

Suppose your name is Wang Ming. Yesterday, you received an email from your pen pal David and learned that he would come to Beijing to study Chinese soon. He wants to know how to learn Chinese well. Please reply to his email in English, introduce your experience and methods of learning Chinese, put forward your suggestions and express your desire to help him learn Chinese well.

Dear David:

I am glad that you will come to Beijing to learn Chinese. Chinese is very useful. Many foreigners are learning it now. This is difficult for you, because it is very different from English. You must remember as many Chinese words as possible. Reading and writing are also important. You can practice listening by watching TV and listening to the radio. Try your best to talk to people in Chinese. You can learn Chinese not only from books, but also from people around you. If you have any questions, ask me. I believe you will learn Chinese well.

I hope to see you in Beijing soon.

Yours,

Wang Ming

Second, the speech

The following three points should be noted in the speech:

1, the location of the speech

2. The target of the speech

3. The content of the speech.

See example:

(Hebei, 2005) At an English class meeting, the teacher asked the students to speak on the theme of "Proud of my school". Please write a speech according to the tips given below. The required number of words is between 80 ~ 100 words. No real names or place names can appear in the text.

Tip: ① What is your school like?

What fun do you have at school?

Why do you like your school?

Proud of my school.

My school is very big, with several tall buildings. There are 2000 students in my school. We have a big playground with many trees around. There are many flowers everywhere.

We had a good time at school. After class, we play games and do a lot of sports, just like a big family. The teachers in our school are as kind to us as our parents. I am proud of my school, because it is one of the best schools in my heart.

Third, matters needing attention

The text of the notice is generally written under the word "notice". Generally speaking, there is no need to write address forms and concluding remarks. At the same time, the company name can be written on the notice or in the lower right corner of the text.

Words are generally in the form of articles, and sometimes advertisements can be used to attract attention. The style of advertising should be concise, and a sentence can be divided into several lines. The first letter of each line is usually capitalized.

Look at this example:

Hubei (2005) Tomorrow (Friday), the whole class will visit the Science and Technology Museum. You (monitor) will inform all the students. (The beginning and end of the notice are given) The contents are as follows:

Notice generally has no fixed format, just need to be concise.
