What if the computer hard disk is offline?
Now computers are basically more than two hard disks, such as an ssd, a mechanical hard disk, and some are three hard disks. Although multiple hard disks can hold more data, they sometimes encounter problems. For example, hard disks do not display drive letters, and sometimes they appear on USB flash drives and mobile hard disks, which may actually be caused by offline status. The following is the solution to this problem.

We can see in Disk Manager that this disk is offline because it has a signature conflict with another online disk.

Solution:

1. First, right-click Computer and select Properties. Switch to disk management on the left, find the offline hard disk, and right click. If "Online" is available, directly click "Online" to return to the normal state.

2. If the online connection is not available, you need to open a command prompt (CMD) in the Start menu with administrator privileges, and then run diskpart.

Then enter the select disk * command to select the disk to be repaired, such as disk 6 in the figure. Be careful not to make mistakes or choose a good hard disk.

3. Then run: uniqueid disk to display the disk id. After obtaining the disk id, we added 1 to avoid signature conflict. In this case, the last ID letter is changed from A to B.

4, that is, run the command: uniqueid disk ID=CAD4EBEB.

Then, we can plug in the USB flash drive again and see the new drive letter displayed in the Explorer.

Note: Never change the disk ID of the boot disk of the system hard disk, otherwise it may lead to the problem of no boot.

Therefore, the offline status is generally a disk id conflict, which can be solved by modifying one of the disk IDs.
