Shipping, provided that the apparent condition is reasonably ascertained by means of inspection and, unless otherwise specified, the total numberor quantity of containers or other packages or units is shown in the box entitled "The carrier is from the port of loading on the transport document" (or place of receipt, if aforesaid) of the port of discharge (or place of delivery, if aforesaid), such carriage shall at all times be subject to the terms, rights, defenses, terms, conditions, limitations and freedoms, exceptions, provisions (including all terms and conditions reverse hereof No. 1-26 and the terms and conditions contained in the carrier's tariff) and the merchant's attentionis drawn in particular the freedom of the carrier to load on deck (see clause 18) and to carry containers (see clause 19) . The bill oflading is non-negotiable and the carrier may deliver the goods to the named consignee upon reasonable proof of identity and without requiringsurrender of the original bill of lading. In bill transfers, merchants must submit an original, endorsed, copy of their goods. The carrier accepts a duty of reasonable care to inspect any document and the merchant surrenders the bill of lading as isgenuine and original. If the carrier complies with this duty, it will have the right to insure the goods with what is reasonably considered a genuine original bill of lading, and the carrier's delivery obligation to deliver the goods unloaded. In accepting a bill of lading, contrary to any local custom or privilege, the merchant must agree to abide by all terms and conditions stipulated whether written, printed, printed orincorporated on the face or reverse side, as they are all stated by the merchant.in witness to the bill of lading to this effect The original bill of lading amount has been signed and the original bill of lading has beensurrendered and the bill has any other invalid signatures.
