On August 6th, Beijing time 19: 30, the draw result of the Europa League play-off was announced at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Because UEFA has divided the participating teams into groups and set the level before the draw, strong teams like Juventus (against Graz Storm), Liverpool (against Trabzon) and Manchester City (against Timisoyala) all drew their opponents without exception.

The draw for the Europa League play-offs mainly consists of three parts, namely, 24 teams that have directly advanced to this stage, 35 teams that have won the third round of qualifiers, and 15 teams that were eliminated in the third round of qualifiers of the European Champions League, bringing the total number of teams drawn to 74.

According to the relevant regulations of UEFA, these 74 teams will be divided into 7 groups before the draw, of which 5 groups are 10 and the other 2 groups are 12. The number of seed teams and non-seed teams in each group is the same. The team from the first draw will play at home in the first game, and their opponents will be the team from the second draw, thus producing 37 games. In the end, Liverpool drew Trabzon, Turkey, Juventus drew Graz, Austria, and Manchester City's opponent was Timisoyala, Romania. The two rounds of the Europa League play-offs will be held on August 19 and August 26.
