Britain has been paying attention to the situation in Myanmar. On February 1942 and 16, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill said frankly: "I think Myanmar and its connection with China are the most important ties in the whole (eastern) war zone." Churchill believed that it was necessary for Britain to "defend Myanmar" ... and take it as the last barrier to defend India. After losing some strategic strongholds along the Pacific coast, if Britain loses Myanmar again, it will lose Britain's south wing barrier in the Asian continent and even shake Britain's foundation in Asia.
