Application skill set of Windows Server
Windows Server 2003 is a brand-new operating system, which embodies the technical accumulation of Microsoft for many years. This is because the core of Windows Server 2003 has been improved, the management of various devices has been further optimized, and the performance has made great progress. Therefore, under the same hardware configuration, the startup speed and program running speed of Windows Server 2003 are much faster than that of Windows Server 2000, especially when low-grade hardware is configured and large-scale software is run. Its influence is far more profound than Windows XP and Windows 98 in the desktop operating system. However, it is also very different from Windows 2000 Server series in specific operation, and there are hidden dangers in system security to varying degrees.

First, cancel the automatic saving settings.

As a new generation network operating system, Windows Server 2003 has its own unique device management mode. When there is an error in calling an application, Dr. Watson in the system will automatically save some important debugging information for future maintenance. However, this information may be peeked at by hackers at any time. For the overall safety of important debugging information, we should cancel the setting of automatically saving debugging information in Dr. Watson. The specific steps are as follows: first, open the start menu, select the "run" command, and then enter the registry editing command "ergedit" command in the opened run dialog box to open the registry editing window; Second, in this window, use the mouse to expand HKEY _ Local _ Machine \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows Downst \ Current Version \ AeDebug branch in turn. In the right sub-window corresponding to the AEDEBUG key value, double-click the Auto value with the mouse and reset its value to "0" in the pop-up parameter setting window. Third, open the Windows Explorer window of the system, expand the Documents and Settings folder, All Users folder, Shared Documents folder and DrWatson folder in turn, and finally delete the User.dmp file and Drwtsn32.log file in DrWatson. After completing the above settings, restart the system. You don't have to worry about saving settings automatically in the future.

Secondly, cancel the security settings of the website.

By default, the newly installed Windows Server 2003 operating system will set IE's security access level to "High". When you open IE, a prompt window will pop up to remind us whether we need to add the website we are currently visiting to our trusted website. If you don't trust, you won't be able to browse the Internet and download files. Every time I visit a web page, I have to go through such steps. This will not only greatly reduce the efficiency of web access, but also be very troublesome. Therefore, you can cancel the security prompt according to the following steps: First, execute the Start/Setup/Control Panel command in turn, and in the open control panel window, double-click the "Add and Remove Programs" icon with the mouse to switch the interface to the "Add and Remove Windows Components" page; Second, use the mouse to select the "Internet Explorer enhanced security configuration" option, and continue to click the Next button to delete this option from the system; Finally, click Finish again to exit the component deletion prompt window. From now on, IE will not automatically check the security of the website when you surf the Internet again. Does it feel much more convenient after the reset?

Third, cancel the resource enjoyment setting.

Compared with Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 greatly enhances the network operating system, and also brings great convenience to users of local area network in transmitting information to each other, such as providing users with the functions of file and printing. But don't forget, when we enjoy this job, it also provides opportunities for hackers and brings potential dangers to the server system. Everyone should pay attention to turn off the * * * enjoy function at any time when they use up files or print it-just in case. The specific steps are as follows: firstly, execute the "Network Connection" command under the menu item of the control panel, and click the "Local Connection" icon with the right mouse button in the window that appears; Secondly, in the shortcut menu that opens, click the "Properties" command to open an "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" property setting dialog box; Third, cancel the option of "Microsoft network files and printers * * *" in this interface; After the above settings are completed, there is no way for the local computer to provide file and print services to the outside world. Practice has proved that this method is very effective.

Fourth, cancel the user switching settings.

Windows 2003 system provides us with the function of fast user switching, with which we can log in to the system conveniently. However, behind enjoying this kind of relaxation, it also brings hidden dangers to your system. For example, when we execute the "logout" command in the "Start" menu of the system and switch users, if we log in to the system in the traditional way, the system will probably regard this login as an error, and Windows2003 system may regard the currently logged-in account as an illegal account and lock it, which will bring us a lot. In this case, we can follow the following steps to avoid the security risks brought by the system: first, in the Windows 2003 system desktop, click the "Control Panel" command under the start menu to find the following "Management Tools" command, then execute the "Computer Management" command in the menu below to find the "User Account" icon, and click "Change the user login or logout mode" in the subsequent window; In the settings window that opens, just uncheck the "Use Fast User Switching" option.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) cancels the setting of shutdown reason.

Every time you need to shut down, Win2003 system always lets you choose the reason for shutting down, which is very troublesome for individual users! And it doesn't have much use significance, so you can disable this function: (1) Use the group policy method: type gpedit.msc in Start → Run to open the group policy window, expand the local computer policy → Computer Configuration → Management Template → System, and then double-click the "Show Event Tracker" item to open the pop-up window. (2) Using the registry method: type "Regedit" in "Start → Run" to open the registry editor, expand the branch of "HKEY _ Local _ Machine Software Policy Microsoft Windows NT", create a new project named "Reliability", and then create a new DWORD value named "ShutdownReasonOn". And add its (3) usage system setting method: open the control panel → power option, enter the advanced tab, in the setting area of the power button, set "When the computer power button is pressed" to "Shut down", and then click the "OK" button. In this way, when you turn off the computer, press the power button on the chassis directly, and the computer will turn off the computer directly after saving the configuration. After the above settings, you won't have any trouble when you shut down the system.

Detailed troubleshooting when Windows 2008 and Windows 7 coexist.

Start the installation in multi-boot mode

At present, my notebook computer is mainly used to run daily work such as product display for customers and occasionally run teaching courses. On the external serial ATA hard disk, I installed Windows Server 2008 with multiple boot modes.

I believe that during the installation of Windows 7 RTM, if an external driver is connected, the installation direction will detect the need to configure multiple boot modes, and I hope it can be configured automatically, so that I don't have to interfere too much in the whole process.

This leads to a rather interesting result. During the whole installation process, there were no problems; After reinstalling Office 2007 and Live online services, I installed several softwares and simply configured some devices, ready to import old data.

Because I reloaded the backup data first, I didn't find this problem immediately. The boot device was not found until the installation CD was exited.

To make matters worse, I found that even if I unplug the external hard disk and use the startup disk, I can't start the system.

So, I first use the CD boot mode and use the F8 key. Select Repair System and Start Menu. But the system didn't find any problems, so I chose to use the installation CD to deal with it, and the result was still the same. I have to enter command line mode and use BCDEDIT to find out the actual partition used in startup mode.

BCEDIT shows the problem.

The results show that the boot manager selects the D disk where the external serial ATA hard disk is located as the boot disk.

To change this setting, I enter: bcdedit/setdevice "partition = c:

I also found that drive C contains boot manager files, just like drive D just used. This is the most interesting place for me. There seems to be no way to solve this problem.

Therefore, I entered the following command to select a backup file using the boot manager: bcdedit /export c:filename.

Next, I use the installation CD to restart the computer and choose to repair the system. And delete the bootmgr.efi file on the notebook internal drive and external serial ATA hard disk by command line.

Finally, I shut down the system and disconnected the external serial ATA hard disk. Reuse the installation CD to start the system. Select repair system. When the installation wizard automatically scans your Windows installation, it immediately finds the problem and gives you repair options. I choose to agree and restart my computer without external serial ATA hard disk and installation CD.

Now, in the startup menu, I can choose Windows 7 (Recovery) and Windows Server 2008 (Recovery).

When Windows 7 started to work normally, I chose to shut down the system and connect the external serial ATA hard disk. When I restarted, I chose to install Windows Server 2008, which worked very well.

BCEDIT after troubleshooting

To eliminate the word "resume" from the displayed item, you can enter the following command:

Bcdedit /set describes "Windows 7 Ultimate"

Bcdedit/setdescription "Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition"

It should be noted that anything else can be used instead.

What is the key reason?

I believe that the root cause of this problem is to choose a new time to install Windows 7 RTM. The installation wizard found Server 2008 and used it as the primary boot device. Therefore, this caused the bootmgr file to be copied and automatically configured, which caused the problem.
