1. Arrive at the test center:
IELTS test-paper-based and computer-based morning session candidates should arrive at the test center at 07:30. IELTS-computer-based test candidates in the afternoon session should arrive at the test center at 12:30. Please arrange breakfast/lunch in advance to ensure your physical strength.
Find your name on the list posted in the examination room, check it with your admission ticket, and confirm your written examination classroom number.
Please show your admission ticket, follow the staff’s guidance to the waiting room to wait for the exam, and place your personal belongings in the designated area.
2. Entering the written examination room:
After arriving at the waiting room, please follow the staff’s arrangements for a pre-entry check-in. Check-in time is:
IELTS-paper-pencil and computer-based test morning session candidates: 07:30 to 08:30. IELTS-computer-based test candidates: 12:30 to 13:30.
Please prepare the ID document used when registering. It is prohibited to bring any other personal belongings.
Carry out identity document inspection and fingerprint verification as arranged by the staff. Fingerprint verification will use an electronic scanner and does not use ink, liquids or chemicals. After fingerprint verification, the candidate will wear a paper bracelet.
As arranged by the staff, wait in line in front of the written examination classroom in order of test number. Please use the restroom before queuing.
During the admission inspection, the invigilator will read out the precautions, electronically scan the candidates to check whether they are carrying prohibited items, check the candidates' identity documents, ask the candidates to sign, and inform the candidates of their seat numbers.
The candidates’ ID cards will be temporarily put away for inspection and returned before the end of the written test.
Find your seat according to the table card and take your seat, and check the personal information and examination arrangements on the table card.
Computer-based test candidates are not allowed to operate the computer or adjust the position of the computer screen by themselves.
3. IELTS computer-based test mode:
After entering the examination room, the invigilator will read out the test notes.
The candidate’s ID card must always be placed on the table for inspection by the invigilator during the exam.
Adjust the position of the computer screen according to the instructions of the invigilator.
The invigilator will first issue a computer login form for the listening test. Please wait for the invigilator’s instructions to log in strictly according to the user name and password on the login form, and pay attention to distinguishing between uppercase and lowercase letters. If you have any questions, please raise your hand in time.
After successfully logging in, please carefully check the personal information displayed by the system. After confirming that it is correct, please click the "My details are correct" button. If you have any questions, please raise your hand in time.
Wait for the invigilator's instructions and click the "Settings" button and adjust the screen color and font size according to your personal habits. After the adjustment is completed, please wait for the invigilator's instructions and click the "OK" button.
Put on the headphones according to the instructions of the invigilator. Click the Play Sound button on the sound audition interface to test the headphones. If you can hear the sound clearly, click the Continue button and take off the headphones. If you have any questions, please Raise your hand in time. The headphone volume can be adjusted through the volume adjustment bar on the upper right side of the computer screen.
Read the computer-based test precautions on the computer screen according to the invigilator’s instructions. Do not click the Start Test button without the invigilator’s instructions.
Put on your headphones as instructed by the invigilator and click the Start Test button.
4. After the exam:
Candidates should remain quiet in their seats.
Follow the instructions of the invigilator and leave in order.
Please bring your ID card.
Please do not forget to take away any personal belongings placed in the designated area outside the examination room.
If candidates believe that there are any interference factors during the examination, please report it to the invigilator in a timely manner. The invigilator will lead the examinee to have an interview with the examiner. If necessary, the examiner will arrange for the examinee to fill out a written complaint form.
