A website named Change.org launched a joint motion five days ago, calling on everyone to support Nadine, the female driver of the school bus who was sued. According to the joint letter, many residents in the town of Mias and the surrounding residents have said that the blocking system of the French national railway company (SNCF) at the railway crossing in Mias sometimes fails.
The joint letter also expressed great support to the families of the students who died, saying that "the little angels who died can rest in peace".
Xavier-Talab, the Marseille prosecutor in charge of the case, said that the traces found on the bus and the testimony of the train driver and the opposite car driver were inconsistent with the female driver's statement. According to French TV media reports, because there was no camera equipment installed at the scene of the accident and the camera lens of the distant factory was broken, the scene at that time could not be confirmed.
