In this midsummer season of July, the "Firefly" social practice team of the English Speaking Aficionados Association of the School of Foreign Languages ??of Lingnan Normal University came to Yanggan, a rural school with picturesque scenery, fresh air, and the fragrance of birds and flowers. middle school. July is on fire, but all the members of our "Firefly" social practice team are even more enthusiastic. We hope that through orienteering, we can shorten the distance between students and primary school teachers, enhance the friendship of classmates, improve class cohesion, and at the same time also It further cultivated the emotions of our "Firefly" social practice team members.
To be honest, at the beginning, I didn’t know what “orienteering” was. It wasn’t until the meeting last night, through the introduction by the person in charge of the relevant project and the activity plan, that I had a certain understanding of cross-country sports. Orienteering is one of the main events of orienteering. Contestants have to rely on a number of checkpoints marked, choose their own route, and find each checkpoint in turn to complete the corresponding tasks. Among them, there are staff at each checkpoint to maintain order and arrange activities. After completing relevant activities, you can get the signature of the staff to clear customs. Participants must complete all activities to be counted, and the competition score will be determined based on the time it takes to reach the finish line, that is, the one with the least time wins. It is understood that our cross-country competition is divided into six levels: double balloon trapping, table tennis relay, dribbling basketball over obstacles, you draw and I guess, team skipping, five people and six feet. Each team must successfully pass these six levels and take the least time to win. In order to stimulate students' enthusiasm for participation and the effectiveness of the competition, we also set up first, second and third prizes, and the winning teams can receive relevant gift packages. From this, I also felt the careful preparation of the students in the design activities. Thank you for your hard work.
Facing the first ray of sunshine in the morning, Yanggan Middle School is full of students and team members, and the entire campus is full of vitality. Because our long-awaited cross-country sports competition is about to begin. Our staff prepared their respective checkpoints and related equipment according to the activity schedule. The students are excitedly looking forward to the start of the cross-country sports competition. The cheerful childlike laughter and bright innocent smile are the best portrayal of teenagers. Seeing the children so happy makes my heart filled with joy.
Since I was in charge of the team skipping event, the other three team members and I arrived at the aisle behind the administration building at the designated location early and worked together to set up checkpoints and wait for the start of the competition.
Maybe everyone thinks that team skipping is difficult and the challenge is difficult, so they all run to other checkpoints first. After more than ten minutes, we finally ushered in the first group of competition teams. Five boys ran towards me. Every second counts! Zi Qing and Xiao Dan were responsible for shaking the rope, I was responsible for introducing the game rules and guidance, and Yunfeng was responsible for signing autographs for the team that passed the level. Maybe it was the first time for the students to play this kind of game. When they first started, they didn’t know how to stand. Some were forward and some were backward. They were a little far away from the rope and uneven. But under my explanation, they quickly unified their directions and stood on the same straight line, and started their performance. Since everyone's physical coordination ability is different, after jumping several times in a row, different students were unable to successfully jump over the rope. There is still a certain distance to go before completing the level by jumping five times in a row. But they all encouraged each other, "It's okay, we can do it again, we can do it, come on." I was deeply moved by seeing them so united and friendly. In fact, this is our purpose. Through the analysis and guidance of the little teachers, the students all learned to tilt their legs back when jumping, which makes it easier to exert force and jump higher. After countless struggles, the first team finally successfully passed the level and moved on to the next level. Seeing their joy and hugs after being relieved, I felt very happy and excited. I think this experience will be unforgettable for them.
Another group of teams surprised me even more. I also jumped many times and couldn't pass the level. The only difference was that each time it was because of a student's mistake that the team couldn't pass. We are all encouraging that classmate and cheering him up. Maybe it was really a problem with their own coordination and jumping ability. Five minutes were about to pass and they were exhausted from dancing. The little classmate still couldn't jump, and the whole team couldn't pass the level. In desperation, the captain asked not to let him go and chose to increase the number of times. After that, the entire team passes in one go. While shouting with joy, one classmate said bluntly, "It's all his fault for being so stupid and holding us back." Immediately, all of us turned our attention to the little classmate. He blushed and lowered his head, as if his self-esteem had been greatly hit and traumatized. The classmate who spoke immediately realized his mistake, ran over to apologize to the little boy, shook hands, and finally the five of them hugged each other. At that moment, I was so moved that my eyes blurred for a moment. I think this is the shyness and friendship that their teenagers should have.
In any case, I have to thank this cross-country sport for allowing me to witness the unity, cooperation and precious friendship of the teenagers. In addition, this activity also allowed students to experience the thrill and fun of cross-country sports, feel the importance of teamwork, enhance friendship and enhance cohesion. At the same time, it also shortened the spiritual distance between primary school teachers and classmates and enhanced the emotions of the members of the "Firefly" social practice team.
