Basketball originated in Massachusetts, USA, and was founded by James Naismith on December 21, 1891. It is the core event of the Olympic Games, a physical confrontation sport centered on the hands.

Basketball game venue
The standard court for basketball games is 28 meters long and 15 meters wide. There must be no obstructions at least 2 meters outside the four boundaries. For indoors, the ceiling height should be at least 7 meters. The court is divided into center line, front court and back court. The radius of the center circle on the center line and the two semicircles on the free throw line in the front and rear penalty areas are both 1.80 meters.
