Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club, referred to as Guangzhou Evergrande, was founded in 1993 and is an A-level football club certified by the Chinese Football Association. The club is located in Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. It is an eight-time regular season champion of the Chinese Football Super League (Chinese Super League), a two-time champion of the AFC Champions League, a six-time champion of the Chinese Football Association Cup, and a six-time champion of the Super Cup. Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club is known as the Asian football giant and the pride of Chinese football.
History
Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club was founded in 1993, originally named Guangzhou Golden Eagle Football Club, as an amateur football team. In 2007, Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club was acquired and became a professional football team. In 2010, Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club participated in the Chinese Super League for the first time and achieved third place. In 2011, Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club won the championship in the Chinese Super League and became the first southern team to win the Chinese Super League championship in the history of Chinese football. Since then, Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club has become the dominant player in the Chinese Super League, winning eight consecutive Chinese Super League regular season championships.
