The revolutionary storm shook Nanjing, the capital of the Chiang dynasty. The People's Liberation Army broke through the natural barrier of the Yangtze River with millions of mighty men, and went straight to Nanjing, which Chiang Kai-shek painstakingly managed for three and a half months.

Nanjing, an ancient capital famous for its grandeur and precipitousness, has returned to the hands of the people. It is more beautiful than before. This earth-shaking change is enough to make people sing generously and rejoice.

The first Seven Laws of the People's Liberation Army's Occupation of Nanking, and Mao Zedong's other two books, Five Laws of Zhang Guan Road and Five Laws of Good News, were written one after another during the People's Liberation War, that is,1August 1945 to1June 1949.
