Nankang Radio and Television Bureau was established in July 1985, and its predecessor was Nankang County Cable Broadcasting Station, which was established in March 1956. Over the past decades, Nankang radio and television institutions have undergone several changes, including Nankang County Radio Station, Nankang County Cable Radio Station, Nankang County Radio Station, Nankang County Mao Zedong Thought Propaganda Station, Nankang County Mao Zedong Thought Radio Station, Nankang County People's Broadcasting Station, Nankang County Broadcasting Bureau, Nankang County Culture Radio and Television Bureau and Nankang County Radio and Television Bureau. 1On March 6th, 995, Nankang was approved by the State Council to withdraw from the county and set up a district.
