In the 10 century, this name was also used on the map of the world compiled by the Arab Ibn hucal. In modern times, the Indian Ocean was officially used around 15 15. At that time, the map compiled by Chenal, a cartographer from Central Europe, marked this ocean as "the Indian Ocean in the East". The word "East" here is relative to the Atlantic Ocean. 1497, Portuguese navigator Da Gama China Eastern Airlines searched for India, and later collectively referred to the ocean that passed along the way as the Indian Ocean. The name "Oriental Indian Ocean" was deleted and simplified to "Indian Ocean" in the world atlas compiled by Ottley Uss in 1570. So this name is gradually accepted by people and has become a common name.
