Second, the people of Yunnan are deeply influenced by the thought of democratic revolution and have the tradition of armed revolution. During the Revolution of 1911 (19 1 1), Yunnan established the local government of the Republic of China through armed struggle. After the baptism of the Revolution of 1911, the people of Yunnan, whose bourgeois democratic revolutionary ideas are deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, support Sun Yat-sen's democratic and harmonious system, oppose the restoration of absolute monarchy, mourn Yuan Shikai's imperial behavior, and are determined to overthrow Yuan Shikai's reactionary rule.
Thirdly, Yunnan was a weak area under Yuan Shikai's rule, especially after the Second Revolution, Yunnan became a well-preserved province of China's revolutionary forces. There are many young officers in the Yunnan army who are members of the alliance, such as Luo Peijin, Deng Taizhong and Tang. They participated in the Revolution of 1911, and the democratic revolutionary thought had a great influence on them. Because Yunnan has long been influenced by bourgeois democratic revolutionary thought, the revolutionary forces can gain a foothold in Yunnan.
Fourth, Yunnan has an army trained by the Revolution of 1911. There are many military talents in Yunnan Army who graduated from universities at home and abroad, such as Cai E, Yunnan, Yunnan, Luo Peijin and Tang. Influenced by the idea of democratic revolution for a long time, the army has good combat effectiveness. Strong military strength is an important factor for Yunnan to dare to raise the banner of protecting the country and resist Yuan first.
Fifth, Tang's participation in the anti-Yuan movement was the decisive condition for making full use of Yunnan's political, military and financial strength to prepare for the uprising. Driven by Tang and others, they gradually turned against Yuan. After taking part in the anti-Yuan movement, he called a secret meeting of Yunnan army officers against Yuan. This meeting made the leaders of the Yunnan army see their own strength clearly, and the anti-Yuan forces of various factions also knew each other and acted in concert. This made organizational, military and material preparations for the uprising.
