Social background of carbon neutrality
Carbon neutrality generally refers to the total amount of carbon dioxide or greenhouse gas emissions directly or indirectly generated by a country, an enterprise, a product, an activity or an individual in a certain period of time, and offsets the carbon dioxide or greenhouse gas emissions generated by itself through afforestation, energy conservation and emission reduction, so as to achieve positive and negative offsets and achieve relative "zero emissions".
On September 22, 2020, the China government put forward at the 75th UN General Assembly: "China will enhance its independent contribution and adopt more effective policies and measures, and strive to reach the peak of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060."
On March 5th, 20021year, the work report of the State Council municipal government pointed out that it is necessary to do a good job in peak carbon dioxide emission and carbon neutrality, formulate an action plan for peak carbon emission before 2030, and optimize the industrial structure and energy structure. "Carbon Neutralization" was selected as the top ten buzzwords in 20021year published by Chewing Text.
