For those who only write lyrics, Pei Gui's name may be unfamiliar, because his outstanding achievements in poetry can easily make people forget that he is a lyric writer who should not be forgotten-indeed, Pei Gui did not focus on lyric creation during his short life journey. However, in the 1980s and 1990s, he was a professional writer working for Chongqing Song and Dance Troupe, and made unforgettable efforts for the prosperity of China lyric art in the new period.
Understanding Pei Gui originates from lyrics. At that time, he was the creative director of Chongqing Song and Dance Troupe and the vice president of Chongqing Music and Literature Society, and presided over the lyrics publication Ci Cui sponsored by Chongqing Music Association and Chongqing Music and Literature Society. If I remember correctly, this should be the only lyric publication sponsored by the Provincial Music Association in Sichuan Province except Ci Jia before Chongqing became a municipality directly under the Central Government. In my impression, this publication is plain and elegant. Because the editors have a good eye for manuscript selection, most of the published works are unconventional, which also improves the artistic taste of the publication. At that time, I was working in the Second Artillery Art Troupe, and I was in a period of vigorous creative energy. Naturally, I have frequent contact with editors in my contributions, and Pei Gui, as a poet, often appears in literary publications such as Poetry Magazine, which makes me admire again and again.
One year, he went to Beijing on business, and we finally met. During the conversation, I learned that his real name was He Peigui. He studied in the Law Department of Renmin University of China and was assigned to work in the Public Security Bureau of Chishui County, Guizhou Province after graduation. Because I always loved poetry, I later transferred back to Chongqing to engage in professional creation. In the feeling of meeting each other after a brief encounter, we talked about the poems, lyrics, lyrics publications that were everywhere at that time, as well as the joys and sorrows of literary and artistic creation in performance units. On almost every topic, we want to agree with the law and are very speculative. Although he didn't talk much at that time, the deepest feeling he gave me was that his introverted but thoughtful character contained prudence and credibility, showing his persistence in his career and a strong sense of responsibility to society.
After that, there was probably a party like this.
Later, in the roaring tide of market economy, with the collapse of Ci Cui, he became the editor-in-chief of Glasses of China Glasses Technology magazine. I remember the modern avant-garde binding, layout and content setting of the magazine he sent me, which made me admire his ability to adapt to the market demand quickly. Later, in a few short years, I received his poetry anthology Five Colors Soil, Landscape Tree, Colorful Life and Lyrics Collection Love Umbrella. At the same time, he was addicted to Taiwan Province's poems and published his Selected Poems of Modern Lyrics in Taiwan Province Province, Selected Poems of Love in Taiwan Province Province and Selected Poems of Short Poems in Taiwan Province Province at an alarming rate. All these can't help but make me secretly happy for his creative energy and fruitful achievements, but also feel deeply ashamed.
Unfortunately, however, in the next twenty years, our contact has been interrupted, perhaps because of our busyness. I know he must be creating his own more impressive performance. Until 2009, I happened to see the words "Pei Gui, executive editor" in Chongqing Culture sponsored by Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Television. I was ecstatic and overjoyed. Later, he told me his mobile phone number in the Chongqing Culture sent to me, so that we could have a valuable call. I also learned from it that he has been asking for my accurate information for several years, but found nothing. Fortunately, at a meeting, I learned from Mr. Tian Xiaogeng that I left Ci magazine in the late 1990s and asked Song to help me with my writing.
At the beginning of 20 10, 10, I was lucky enough to go to Chongqing to participate in the collection and selection of new works of Red Song, and it was difficult to reunite with Pei Gui, who is also a judge. He hasn't seen it for many years. As before, he is dressed simply and reserved, and his feet are still a pair of old cloth shoes, but his spirit seems a little tired. I am well aware of the hardships of editing and publishing a publication. As a bimonthly magazine, Chongqing Culture is a comprehensive and high-grade cultural publication, covering art criticism, script creation, interviews with people, troupe style, stage space, literary views, cultural inheritance and artistic essays. Just because of the tight selection schedule, He, who only served as the re-evaluation judge, hastily ended his work, leaving us no chance to talk calmly.
Maybe it's God's help. More than 20 days later, 10 ended, and I was once again invited to attend the "High-end Forum on Music Creation and Advanced Culture" sponsored by Chongqing Musicians Association. During the meeting, I specially invited him to my hotel for a talk.
Although I know he is very busy, I have no choice but to meet him after such a long separation. Here he comes, taking a bus from downtown to Jiangbei. He still doesn't talk much, and his tone is mild. Let's talk about the current creative situation, authors and media in Beijing, and authors and publications in Chongqing. But even casual chatting can't erase the tiredness from his face, and I think he seems to smoke a lot more frequently than before. Because several friends unexpectedly came at that time, we couldn't have a sincere conversation. But I never imagined that this meeting, which was nearly twenty years late, became the last time we met several months later. What is this regret? What is this hate?
Knowing the news of his unfortunate death, I immediately asked his daughter He Fang with surprise and doubt to confirm that he left us quietly on June 3, 20 1 1. From the nostalgic articles in Chongqing's cultural circles, I finally found out Wen Peigui's unusual life track in the past 20 years-as a writer, poet and editor, he has served as the editorial director of Chongqing and the World, the invited editor of Chinese and foreign poetry research, and the executive deputy editor of Oriental Morning News; As a playwright and lyricist, he has successively created five large-scale musicals, such as The True Story of Ah Q, large-scale scene song and dance, and large-scale scene dance poem Xiang and Fuling Memory, especially myna and Chongqing Dance with the theme of Chongqing's regional characteristics and history and culture, which has been fully displayed on the stage in Chongqing and widely favored, and witnessed the extraordinary talent of this literary genius with various artistic strengths, which is daunting. It is no exaggeration to say that every day and night spent in Peigui's life has sown precious seeds and produced rich fruits. His 65-year-old ring never wastes a minute. Therefore, his departure must be accompanied by a sense of relief.
Perhaps the elegies written by the old poet Liang Shangquan after Pei Guizhi's death are the most appropriate evaluation of his life: "Beautiful poetry, beautiful words, many chapters in dance, diligence." If Pei Cai asks what is expensive? People often leave immortal songs when they leave. "
And I'm thinking, no one in this world can live forever, but if his creative achievements and spiritual quality can make the living people feel it often, this may be the best way to extend their lives.
May Peggy rest in peace forever!
