After Emperor Xiaowen ascended the throne, factional struggles within Buddhism intensified and gradually evolved into social class struggles.
Faced with this situation, the rulers of the Northern Wei Dynasty supported some monks to preach Zen, while forbidding others to gather disciples to preach. As a result, some monks began to praise the wisdom of the rulers, while others openly destroyed temples and burned scriptures and rebelled.
In 473 AD, Saman Yin Hui called the masses to revolt. In 48 1 a.d., Samana Faxiu rebelled in Pingcheng, Kyoto. Besides civilians and slaves, there were many bureaucrats. In 5 14 A.D., Shaman Liu Seng Zhao held an activity in Youzhou, calling himself "the King of the Country". In May15, with the support of Li Guibo, a Bohai native, Shaman Faqing and Hui Hui from Jeju (now Jixian County, Hebei Province) gathered in Fucheng, Wuyi County. Fa Qing took Li Guibo as the top ten living bodhisattvas, magic generals and Hanwang, and named himself Mahayana.
Mahayana believers burned temples, statues and monks and nuns under the banner of "New Buddha was born, and all demons were removed", which shocked the ruling and opposition parties for a time. In July of that year, Yao Yuan of the Northern Wei Dynasty led 100,000 soldiers to Jizhou to suppress the uprising. In mid-September, the insurgents were defeated, and more than 0/00 people, such as Faqing, Huifei and other leaders, were all killed, and tens of thousands of insurgents were slaughtered.
Buddhism has a history of more than 2,500 years. It was founded by Gautama Siddharta, the prince of the ancient Indian kingdom of Kapilovi (now Nepal) (see Buddha's birthday). Western countries generally believe that Buddhism originated in India, and India is actually trying to shape the image of a "Buddhist holy land". This has caused many people to have the illusion that the Buddha was born in India, which has always made the Nepalese people dissatisfied. Buddhism is also one of the three major religions in the world. Buddha means "awakening". Buddha is also known as Tathagata, repentance, enlightenment, clear behavior, good death, worldly solution, supreme teacher, mediator, teacher of heaven and man, and Buddha. Buddhism attaches importance to the progress and consciousness of human mind and morality. The purpose of practicing Buddhism is to discover the truth of life and the universe according to Siddhartha's practice method, and finally transcend life and death and suffering, cut off all troubles and get relief. The new name of the Buddha is S. Gautama (P. Gotama), and the old name is Gotama; Because he belongs to the Sakyamuni family, people also call him Sakyamuni.
