The running of cattle festival of Miao nationality is a traditional folk activity of Miao nationality, which refers to an activity in which people let two buffaloes compete to win. It is called "Oriental Bullfighting". The Miao bullfighting is different from the bullfighting of other nationalities, and it is the relic of totem worship of Miao cattle.
Before the Miao people's Bull Run Festival began, the middlemen recommended by each village ran around among the cattle owners to learn about the length, height, age, weight, growth and so on of Niujiaomen, and then concentrate on deciding who to fight with. With the consent of the owner, the host announced the beginning of the bullfight. After the bullfight, people dress the winners in red and propose a toast to their owners.
On the night of the Miao people's Bull Run Festival, people light bonfires in the bullring, young people play lusheng, girls dance, old people tell ancient legends and stories, and people celebrate all night.
