Wuzhen is a national 5A-level scenic spot, once known as Wu Dun and Qingdun, with a long history of more than 6,000 years. As a typical water town in the south of the Yangtze River, Wuzhen has completely preserved the original style and pattern of the ancient water town in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Taking the river as the street, connecting the street and the bridge, taking the river as the house, and integrating water and town, Shui Ge, small bridge, slate alley and other architectural styles with unique charm in the south of the Yangtze River are organized. The four old streets in the east, west, south and north of Wuzhen are crossed, forming an ancient town pattern with parallel rivers and streets and adjacent land and water.
Wuzhen Scenic Area is now mainly Dongzha and Zhaxi. Dongzha Scenic Area mainly gathers the traditional residential area and workshop area of the old street. Wuzhen is also the hometown of Mao Dun, a master of modern literature in China. Mao Dun's former residence is located in Dongzha, the birthplace of Mao Dun, and is now a national key cultural relics protection unit. The Lizhi Academy on the east side is Mao Dun's youth reading room, which is now turned into Mao Dun Memorial Hall. Zhaoming Academy and Mu Xin Former Residence Memorial Hall are also located in Dongzha. No wonder some people say that Dongzha is suitable for seeking history.
Dongzha in Wuzhen is also the location of most scenes in the drama Time is Like Water. The beautiful story that can't be loved has a long aftertaste and touched the hearts of countless young men and women in literature and art.

Shops, pawn shops and pharmacies that were once prominent in Wuzhen's history now appear in Tashi with their original features. In Zhaxi shopping district, once popular handicraft workshops around Tongxiang live next to each other.
Some people say Tashi is too commercialized. But what I feel most in Tashi is amorous feelings and romance. Listening to the long sound of water on the boat in Wu Peng; Complain about the leisure in the cafe; Standing on the bridge to see the scenery; Sit by the water and taste Wuzhen lotus root starch; At night, I will watch the little star fall into the river ... sleep in the water and dream of the water town, and unconsciously it becomes a concern that I can't give up. No wonder this kind of milk tea in Rene Liu will write the sentence "I have been here, but I have never left".
Nanzha has not been developed, but it has retained the most primitive features of the people in the south of the Yangtze River. At dusk, walking in the old streets and alleys of Nanzha, mottled old houses and long alleys, old people sitting in front of the door with bowls, domestic dogs sitting in a daze on the street corner, fruits and vegetables scattered on the roadside windowsill, chrysanthemums floating in the shops on both sides of the street ... In this situation, Ma Zhiyuan's poems come to mind: a dead vine, a faint cry, a small bridge, a mobile family. The ancient road is sparse, the sun sets, and heartbroken people are in the end of the world. It's just that the situation here is not as sentimental as in the poem, but more of a quiet life scene.
Bridges are indispensable in the ancient water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. Wuzhen is really a "hundred steps and one bridge", with more than 30 existing bridges. Among them, Tashi has Tongji Bridge and Renji Bridge; Zhongshi and Dongzha have Yingjia Bridge, Taiping Bridge, Renshou Bridge, Yong 'an Bridge and Fengyuan Double Bridge. South Gate has Fuxing Bridge and Fulan Bridge; There are Tiyun Bridge and Li Ji Bridge in Beizha. Sitting next to a beautiful woman watching the bridge, or standing on the bridge watching the scenery, inadvertently, you also entered the eyes of others and became the scenery in others' eyes.
Alleys are another beauty of Wuzhen. Walking in narrow alleys, mottled walls, moss and green plants in the corner decorate the white walls, which are vicissitudes and ancient.
