Wushan county is located in the east of Chongqing, in the center of the Three Gorges reservoir area, and is known as the "gateway to the northeast of Chongqing". It spans the banks of Wuxia Gorge in the Yangtze River, bordering Badong in Hubei in the east, Jianshi in Hubei in the south, Fengjie in the west and Wuxi in the north. Wushan county is located at the junction of Daba mountain arc structure, eastern Sichuan fold belt and Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou fold belt. The Yangtze River runs east-west, and seven tributaries, such as Daning River and Baolong River, cut down strongly from north to south. The landform is in the form of alternating deep valleys and middle and low mountains, and the terrain fluctuates steeply. The elevation of valley bottom is mostly within 300 meters, and the bank slope facies is the most 1000 meters.
