Looking through the personal profiles on the program, in addition to numerous awards and honors under everyone's name, it is not difficult to find the artistic experiences of several pianists: Sheng Yuan studied under professors such as Li Qifang, Lee Hye-ri and Zhou Guangren in his early years; 199 1 went to Manhattan Conservatory of Music in new york, USA, and obtained a master's degree in music. In 2005, he returned to China and taught at the Central Conservatory of Music. Du Ningwu graduated from the High School Attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music in his early years, and then went to new york Juilliard Conservatory of Music for further study. In September 2005, he returned to China to teach at Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music. Han Bing studied in the Middle School Attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music in his early years; 1994 went to Manhattan Conservatory of Music to study and got a master's degree. He returned to China in 2003 and taught in the Piano Department of China Conservatory of Music. Pan Chun, graduated from the Middle School Attached to the Central Conservatory of Music, studied under Chen Hui? Zhong Ting 1982 was admitted to the High School Attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music; From 65438 to 0988, he went to the United States and studied at Juilliard and Manhattan Conservatory of Music. 200 1 has been teaching in the piano department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. When I was a child, I received a good art education in China, laid a solid professional foundation ―― going abroad for further study ―― returning to China after my studies, and became active in the teaching posts and music stages of major conservatories in China, which constituted the life trajectories of several "returnees" and a microcosm of the life trajectories of a large number of young scholars active in various fields in contemporary China.
Because the theme of the evening is to welcome the New Year and highlight the festive and cheerful atmosphere, the whole concert has been shrouded in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Therefore, several pianists did not choose great works in the repertoire, but all took out their proud works. Generally speaking, the works of that night are divided into two categories. Sheng Yuan and Pan Chun chose Bach's Italian Concerto and Rachmaninov's Variations on the Theme of Caullery, while the other three chose the dazzling works of romantic composers such as Liszt and Ravel.
At the beginning of the concert, Sheng Yuan, dressed in a blue Tang suit, appeared on the stage and immediately won a prize. Morihara's Italian Concerto is the only work before romanticism that night, and Bach has always been Morihara's "strong point", so he naturally plays it with ease ―― the music structure is logical and the voice level is very clear. Du Ningwu, who didn't appear much on the Beijing stage before, is a very versatile pianist. In addition to solo, he also has rich experience in chamber music performance and creation. That night, in addition to playing Liszt's "Mefistofele Waltz", he also performed his own adaptation of Erhu's famous song "Two Springs Reflecting the Moon". Its version is more refined in structure than the original song and the classic version adapted before Chu, and the music language is more piano-like. From this edition, we can feel Du Ningwu's unique and piano-like understanding and interpretation of this national classic. Han Bing was the youngest pianist to take the stage that night. He played a ravel waltz with great enthusiasm and passion, and won applause from the audience.
In the second half, Pan Chun made his debut, and his repertoire was Rachmaninov's last piano work Variations on the Theme of Colelli. Pan Chun's performance is as quiet and elegant as himself. After studying in Russia for many years, his handling of music is extensive and profound, and complex counterpoint and skills have been well integrated in the performance of music. It is not difficult to see that he got the essence of "Russian school".
Zhong Ting is the oldest pianist who appeared that night. He chose the Schumann art song Dedication adapted by Liszt, two works adapted from Verdi's opera The Clown, and two jazz sketches by Gershwin. Zhong Ting's timbre is very clean and transparent. Although the sound of Yamaha piano used in the concert that night was a little dark, his performance was still full of brilliance. Fast, gorgeous decorative cadenza and a large number of difficult octaves show his profound technical foundation.
Another highlight of this concert is the "special program" performed by several special guests and pianists after the official repertoire. These special guests were none other than the wives of several pianists who performed that night. It turns out that besides Han Bing, there are several people who have families. Their other half ―― Wang Guanwen, the wife of Zhong Ting, Lin Jingjing, the wife of Pan Chun, and Tara, the wife of Shengyuan? Sheng (American) and Du Ningwu's wife (Korean)-two pianists. As a result, a pair of rare "piano lovers" sat side by side or played opposite each other on the stage.
For the presence of several special guests, the host's explanation is very interesting: "When these pianists went abroad to study, people lamented that all the outstanding talents we trained went abroad." Today, they not only returned to China after finishing their studies, but also brought back one from their master. We didn't lose money, but we made a profit. The host's "teasing" can be regarded as an alternative interpretation of talent flow. Indeed, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, as a large number of outstanding domestic talents went abroad to study, the voice of lamenting "serious brain drain" was endless. But in contrast, with the rapid development of domestic economy and cultural undertakings, a large number of "returnees" have "returned" to various fields in China in just over ten years.
On the other hand, with the participation of returned young pianists in this New Year concert, it can be predicted that the piano career in China will usher in a new spring in the near future.
