Nanniwan, located in the southeast of Yan 'an City, Shaanxi Province, is one of the tourist attractions in Yan 'an and is famous for its large-scale production movement during the Anti-Japanese War.

Nanniwan basin covers an area of 365 square kilometers, which belongs to hilly and gully region and is the birthplace of Fenchuan River. Nanniwan was once densely populated and fertile in the early days, and gradually became a desolate place in the middle and late Qing Dynasty. 1February, 939, Mao Zedong put forward the slogan of "Do it yourself, have plenty of food and clothing" to mobilize the military and civilians in the base areas to carry out large-scale production campaigns.
