In October, the 12th National Academic Conference on Behavioral Medicine of Chinese Medical Association was grandly opened here. More than 600 elites from behavioral medicine and related disciplines at home and abroad gathered together to exchange experiences and share information and make suggestions for the development of behavioral medicine. I am especially honored to invite the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, President of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, former Vice Minister of Health, Professor Wang Longde of China Academy of Engineering, Vice Governor Sun Shibin of Hebei Provincial People's Government, Professor Sun of China Academy of Sciences, Professor Li of China Academy of Engineering, Minister Gao Kan of China Association for Science and Technology, many leaders of Hebei Science and Technology Department, Hebei Provincial Health Department, Hebei Provincial Civil Affairs Department and Hebei Association for Science and Technology to come to the conference to guide the work. Here, on behalf of the Behavioral Medicine Branch of Chinese Medical Association and the editorial board of China Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science, I would like to extend my warm welcome and sincere thanks to all the leaders and colleagues attending this meeting!

Behavioral medicine is an interdisciplinary subject that studies and develops knowledge and technology about health and diseases in behavioral science, and applies these knowledge and technology to disease prevention, health promotion, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Therefore, it can be said that behavioral medicine is one of the most critical disciplines to protect and promote human health. The development of behavioral medicine has greatly enriched medical theory and promoted the transformation of medical model to biological-psychological-behavioral-social model. At present, many scholars have come to realize that behavioral medicine, together with biomedicine and social medicine, is one of the three pillars of modern medical system and plays an increasingly important role in safeguarding and promoting human health.

Although the research and records of behavioral medicine in China can be traced back to many years ago, for example, Chinese medicine attaches great importance to the relationship between human behavior and health and disease. The whole theoretical system of TCM is almost based on the observation and analysis of human behavior. Just didn't mention the word "behavioral medicine". However, since 1977 "Behavioral Medicine" came out, the development of behavioral medicine in China has only been more than 20 years (Behavioral Medicine Branch was formally established on 1990). However, under the leadership of the Chinese Medical Association, with the active efforts of a group of experts, on the basis of preliminary work and in a harmonious atmosphere, behavioral medicine experts from all over the country closely cooperate and support each other. Everyone has done a lot of creative work around the development of disciplines, academic exchanges, friendship and mutual promotion, and the work of behavioral medicine branch has developed rapidly. The work of the past year is briefly summarized as follows:

Last year, we successfully completed the general election of the Institute. During the 20 15 1 1 Guangzhou meeting, under the auspices of the Organization and Management Department of the Chinese Medical Association, the Behavioral Medicine Branch successfully held the general election of the fourth committee, and elected the chairman, the chairman-designate and the standing committee members. The Fourth Committee consists of 69 domestic experts, including 265,438+0 standing committee members, 65,438+0 chairman members, 65,438+0 chairman-designate members and 4 vice-chairmen.

Actively undertake and organize the large-scale academic activities of "Meeting the Hall of Fame-Academician Watching the Expo". Behavioral Medicine Branch actively undertakes and organizes a series of large-scale academic activities sponsored by the Propaganda Department of Shanghai Municipal Committee, Shanghai Science and Technology Commission and Shanghai Science and Technology Association, namely, "Meeting the Hall of Fame-Academician Watching the Expo". On the afternoon of September 6th and 9th, 2065438+05, three activities were held in the Public Participation Hall of Shanghai World Expo Park and Shanghai Science Center. The theme of the activity is that behavior determines health.

Each activity includes theme report, guest dialogue, dialogue with the media and audience, and book signing.
