The purpose of the World Chinese Youth Art Festival is to promote Chinese civilization, show Chinese elegant demeanour, unite overseas Chinese in five continents, resolutely oppose Taiwan independence, promote the reunification of the motherland, build a harmonious and prosperous society, and shape the brand of Greater China culture.

The festival is supported by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China Education Association for International Exchanges, and hosted by the World Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. The theme is "There is only one China in the world".

The activities of the festival include China traditional vocal music, instrumental music, dance, language, Quyi (drama), martial arts, modeling, spoken English, calligraphy and painting, etc.
