On the occasion of commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March, the reporter interviewed Qin Huali, a veteran of the Red Army aged 104, and listened to his arduous long March experience. The reporter was deeply moved by his relaxed posture, amazing memory, optimism and open-mindedness, and firm belief.
Long March
My Long March "First Time"
"Surviving the Great Disaster" in the Battle of Qianfo Mountain
1In May, 935, the battle of Qianfoshan, which lasted more than 70 days, was an important battle for the Red Fourth Front Army to leave Beichuan Canyon in the west. Qin Huali joined the Red Army on 1932 and escaped the first disaster in this campaign.
Qianfo Mountain is about 3000 meters high. Standing on the top of the mountain, it overlooks Chengdu Zhongba Plain and Dujiangyan. Headquartered in the temple at the top of the mountain. At that time, there were no people and no food on the mountain, and there were forests and small bamboo forests everywhere. I acted with Company 5, Battalion 2, 279th Regiment, 93rd Division, opposite a brigade of Deng Xihou, a warlord in Sichuan. The soldiers stayed on the mountain for seven days and seven nights.
On the eighth day, our army launched a counterattack against the enemy. When I charged the fifth company, an enemy mortar shell exploded beside me, and a shrapnel hit my thigh (still scarred), so I couldn't move. The political commissar of the regiment immediately sent a stretcher to take me to the Gongsijun General Hospital for treatment. Without medicine, the nurse can only dress the wound with gauze. At this time, the troops are eager to move the seriously wounded to stay in the north, but we have to follow the troops, even if we die, it is glorious. Then I asked the nurse to find a civilian (ordinary person) to carry us to the back of the army.
After walking for about four days, I came to a Okawabe. Just as the civilian worker was carrying me in the middle of the iron cable bridge, three enemy planes suddenly flew in and bombed the bridge deck in turn. The civilian worker who carried me threw the stretcher on the bridge and ran away. Fortunately, after the bomb exploded a bamboo rope on the left side of the bridge, the bridge deck was skewed, but it was not broken. I watched the enemy planes bomb back and forth.
After the enemy bombed, two civilian workers came back and saw me lying on a stretcher alive, so they lifted me up and followed the troops. This is the first time I have survived.
My Long March "Miracle"
The shell skin in the wound "ran out" by itself.
The lack of medical care and medicine in the Long March is "normal", and salt water and urine have become a panacea for the wounded. At this point, the shell skin that deeply penetrated Qin Huali's leg muscles, after torturing him 1 for many months, unexpectedly "miraculously" ran out, and the wound that had festered and maggots was completely healed. More than 80 years later, Qin Huali talked about this experience and even felt incredible.
Ten days later, my wound became infected and festered, giving off a stench from time to time and growing white maggots. There was no medicine around at that time. Every day when I got to the rest place, I asked the civilian worker to help me boil some water, put some salt and wash myself with an old cloth dipped in salt water. Later, the wound rotted into a small hole and I held back the pain. After I put the cloth in and sucked out the pus, I washed it with urine (when I was a child, I heard adults say that urine was sterilized).
One day a month later, the wound was in sharp pain. Look carefully, there is a black spot, so I gently press it with my fingernail and find that the shell skin has been exposed. There were no medical staff at that time, so I borrowed a pair of small scissors, gritted my teeth, slowly cut the skin open, then held the shrapnel with my fingers and suddenly pulled it out.
I fainted in pain and my leg was bleeding. After five or six days, the wound stopped hurting and slowly healed. This was a miracle at that time.
My "Long March Spirit"
As long as you have faith, no matter how big the difficulty is, you can solve it.
What is the "Long March Spirit"? Qin Huali summed it up as: not afraid of hardship, fatigue, sacrifice and obstacles. He said: "Beliefs and ideals are very important to young people. Because as long as you have goals and directions, you will find ways to overcome difficulties. "
1September, 935, I was selected to study radio in Communication College. At that time, the pencils seized by the army were sent to three schools (Central Party School, Red Army University and Communication School) and distributed to students. I have never seen a pencil. Students study hard, and "learn while playing, learn while walking" is the slogan. The hardest thing to learn is English. When we marched, everyone took a small wooden board with Chinese and English words written on it, and the people behind us could read the words on the wooden board while walking.
During the Long March, the telegraph battery was eliminated by the troops in front, and the power was often insufficient. I don't know chemistry. Once, I peeled off the rotten zinc skin of the battery layer by layer and licked the liquid inside. It is salty, bitter and astringent. I thought there should be salt in it, so I tried to peel off all the skin of the battery and put it in a bamboo tube with salt water for a long time. Use it again and it will be fully charged.
Centenary long March
"Go, that's where we rushed to the enemy!"
Tongjiang County, Sichuan, the hometown of Qin Huali, is the first stop of the Red Fourth Front Army's Long March into Sichuan. 2065438+September 2003, Qin Huali, a hundred years old, accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law, returned to her hometown and took the "Long March" road again, revisiting the mountains and rivers, visiting her hometown and paying a return visit.
The Political Department of the 30th Army of the Red Fourth Army in Tongjiang County, the Monument to the Martyrs of the Red Army by Wang Ping, and Lianghekou Town in Tongjiang County, the first town where the Red Fourth Army entered Sichuan, all left his footprints.
Going back to the places where we fought in those years-Maoyu Town and Youyakou Village in Tongjiang County, recalling that year, he couldn't help waving his right hand with a gun and said, "Go, that's where we rushed to the enemy!"
Standing at the sword gate and leading his entourage, he found the place where he fought with the enemy when he passed the "first pass in the world" with the big troops, as if yesterday was just around the corner. ...

Recite the poem "Crossing the Grass"
During the Long March, Qin Huali was the director of Gongsijun Radio Station, and he crossed the grassland three times. In the interview, Qin Huali recited his own poem-
Above the Grassland is an endless grassland with water, poison and mud. Comrades trudged into the swamp, buried in the soil and cast monuments. Lack of salt and food for half a year, wild vegetable cowhide as a good meal. In He Suoju, the officers and men marched forward bravely. There is always dawn at night, and spring comes after cold. Three Assemblers Meet the New Situation of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression
I didn't sleep for 8 days and 8 nights in Taihang Mountain, and I enjoyed blankets in Qin Jiwei.
"Look at Qian Shan's vast valleys, iron walls and anti-Japanese bonfires burning on Taihang Mountain ..." On Taihang Mountain is Qin Huali's favorite War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression song.
From 1937 to 1947, he moved to Taihang Mountain with Liu Bocheng for ten years. What impressed me the most was: "1940 During the Hundred Regiments War, I didn't sleep for eight days and eight nights. Because of the timely dispatch, General Qin Jiwei rewarded me with a blanket, which is a trophy seized from the Japanese army and is still collected at home! "
In his eyes, the majestic Taihang is a hot spot of blood and the foundation of the team's development and growth. His 129 division had only 9,000 people when crossing the Yellow River eastward, and by the time he left Taihang Mountain after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, there were already 300,000 people, becoming the famous "Liu Dengjun".
Physical and mental health rules
Wash your face with cold water every day.
With silver hair, straight back, vigorous spirit, quick thinking and clear speech, 104-year-old Qin Huali looks like an old man in his seventies and eighties. When asked about the way of keeping in good health, he and his daughter both mentioned a very special habit: wash your hair with cold water every day 1 minute.
Daughter Qin Zhihong told reporters that Qin Lao has always maintained the habit of washing his hair, washing his face and taking a bath with cold water every day until now. /kloc-take a bath after 0/00 years old, and gradually change it to warm water first and then cold water. However, this habit has been cultivated for many years, and Qin Zhihong does not advise the elderly to imitate it easily.
Qin Lao said that this habit was formed during the Anti-Japanese War: "At that time, I had a headache because of lack of sleep and great pressure. Once I soaked a towel in well water and put it on my head. I found it much better, and I have been washing my hair and taking a bath with cold water since then. This habit has persisted for more than 70 years. "
Qin Lao's regimen also includes these:
1, don't smoke, drink red wine: Because I had severe stomach trouble and insomnia, I stopped smoking and white wine after I was 35, and drank a small glass (one or two glasses) of red wine every night instead.
2. Eat seven full points: He told everyone around him to eat seven full points, even his favorite braised pork, and stopped eating at most two chopsticks at a time.
3. Sleep until you wake up naturally: Don't force yourself to go to bed early and get up early, sleep until you wake up naturally every day, and don't get up in a hurry after waking up. First, do a set of self-made full-body acupoint massage.
4, insist on combing your hair and massaging your feet: When watching TV every night, comb your hair with a horn comb and massage your feet 500 times each.
5, keep exercising: keep exercising every day, go out for a walk regardless of the weather, and sometimes practice gateball for half an hour. Passers-by can't believe that he is one hundred years old.
