According to research, Zhuge Liang has never been to Jinling. But Liu Bei did stay in Jinling on his way to Jingkou (now Zhenjiang). He realized that the city would play an important role in the future history, so he urged Sun Quan to move his capital to Moling (now Nanjing) after he arrived in Jingkou.
In 2 1 1 year, Wu Dong moved to Moling, the capital, and was renamed Jianye the following year, with the intention of establishing an imperial career here. Soon, on the basis of Jinling City of Chu State, a famous stone city was built as an important stronghold of the water army of Wu State.
Compared with the orthodox and authoritative dynasty established in the Central Plains, the first imperial capital appeared in Jiangnan, and Sun Quan became the first emperor in Jinling. This is a challenge to the traditional Central Plains theory and the most solid step for Jiangnan culture to enter the historical stage of China. "King of Jinling" is no longer "groundless", but has become a vivid historical reality, and Nanjing has since embarked on the course of China's great ancient capital.
To commemorate this important historical event, later generations called Zhuge Liang and Sun Quan's residence in Ma "in Ma Po", and Zhao Gongren, the magistrate of Jiangning, once erected a monument at the foot of the mountain, engraved with "Zhuge Wuhou's residence in Ma". Due to years of war, this monument can never be found again.
