Who are the "Four Heavenly Kings" on both sides of Tianwang Temple in Lingyin Temple?
Buddhism believes that the four heavenly kings each protect the world. There are two statues on the right, one is the king of the East (holding a pipa) and the other is the king of the South (holding a sword). There are two statues on the left, one is the wide-eyed king in the west (holding a rope) and the other is the king of Wenduo in the north (holding a treasure house).
